capping mob spawns

is it actualy possible to cap the mon spawns so that there arnt excessive ammounts on a map after a while?

small map (100x100) roughly 130 mobs and 1 boss mobs spawn every 20 mins but after 1-1.5 hours the map is overwelmed

im afraid not the only thing you can do is reduce the spawn i believe but i doubt theres a way will be interesting if some one new how

pretty easy you do your normal spawns of say 20mins then you put another spawn but with a larger ammount for 1hr so every20mins it will do the ammount u want every 1 hr it will do even more if that is what you mean
