I haven't checked for a quote in ages tbh, cos I dont have a car nemore lol.

First car was a 1.9 tdi 306 but I had it on my mums insurance, was quite expensive still, like 1200 quid maybe a bit less...

now i'm 19 and haven't had any claims since I passed when I was 17...but I haven't been driving all that time...does that affect my no claims?

my m8 had a t5 1999 volvo in his dads name for 1600 lol.

Yeah i heard something similar to this fella ^

However i also know most insurers don't give no claims to named drivers, you have to be the full owner/driver. Or if they even do, it's only if you stay with that company. Prime example here is Direct Line, 'No claims for ALL named drivers' (but that's only if you stay with them) else they add up for nothing.

Or so i believe.

/Gand - and Yeah i fell into that named driver policy trap..

I live on the out skirts of the city centre, in an area that is supposed to have a high crime rate and my insurance on my scoby is only £800. Though I am with a company that deals primarily for insurance for high performance cars.

ah your 4 years older than me mapadale.. wondered how u got it pretty cheap
But I have 3 points for speeding and 8 points for no insurance and still get it cheap.

yeah mapadale you need to give a bit more info than just the price, what car, how many years no claims etc.

Errrrmmmm - Scoby = Subaru

its on a 06 plate and in question to your no claims, what no claims.

you got to be mid 20's age wise then best part of 30? coz thats cheap. engine in the subaru wrx ?
27 with 11 points on my licence, wouldn't mean that I would get cheap insurance.

The best quote I got from a normal insurance company was £4750, hence why I went to a company that deals with performance cars and got it a hell of a lot cheaper.

I would sugest telling everyone, that going with any of htese insurance companys that offer you this that and the other to be a member are the biggest waste of money. Everything that they offer you, you are efffectiverly paying for.

Shop around, or look through the yellow pages. There are a hell of a lot more companys out there, that are far more cheaper and still give you the best deals.

I'm paying about 2k on a 2001 1.6 Clio. (Call me a chav all you like, i'm far from it, and itleast i havn't done it up, nor does it look like a chavy clio)

Very expensive i think, but i have a few other mates who pay alot.

I did shop around a hell of a lot too, and that was the cheapest i could find surprisingly.

I went with a company that handed me onto other insurance companies who all gave me seperate quotes, one of the quotes we're £5,500 and they told me to take the offer for £2,000 as they couldn't match it at all.

I ended up with Norwich Union.

Someone recently drove into the side of me aswell.... Finaly got the car back.

I'm hoping my second year will drop a lot.

Just thought id say for people looking to renew or for first car to try quick fit insurance, with all my convictions (CD10 + 5 points, DR10)and being 19 they still quote me pretty ok, well better then expected.

For a 1.6 16v 3dr astra sxi was 1700 a year which isnt bad for age and all that crap on my licence :).

Does that make you hard?

That's cheap for a 1.6.

First year (like you are) on my 1.25, I paid £1803, second year with my years no claims it's down to £1034.
