6x9's are a waste of money, wont improve the quality of your sound.

As gotrex said, buy a decent Component set.

Do you have anything already? Sub/Amp?

Look at buying JBL, Alpine, Pioneer, Infinity. Some Fli stuff are OK, not great, but decent for the price if you are on a tigh budget.

Alpine do a cheap version (which is not too good) easily blowable, Their more expensive range of car speakers are good. I have a set of alpine door speakers which sound crisp, i think i paid between 35 and 40 pounds for a pair brand new.

I noticed people are saying 6 x 9`s are not worth gettig? My mate has a set of vibe 6x9`s and 2 front door speakers and his system sounds very nice. I could imagen if he had a sub though the air travel would prossibly interrupt with the cones of the 6x9`s and make them sound poor.

My mother has one of those hippy VW busses (dubs) and she has a fairly nice sounding setup basicly shes got 4 x JBL 6x9`s and got 2 in the front lower doors an 2 in the back facing towards the front. I was most amazed with the sound performance, With it being a much bigger shape then a normal car. I also think all 4 of them run off 45 watts each all connected to the head unit.

A decent Components set will always be better than 6x9's

Why some people have subs in their boot, then stick some expensive 6x9's on the shelf aswell is beyond me.

All you need is a decent sub, decent amp, decent comps are youre away.

and y not buy 6x9`s?

i say this time and time again...

6x9s are multipurpose speakers usualy made of crap material, they produce, bass, mid and sometimes high notes.

if ur after crisp, responcive, defined sound u will not get this from a pair of 6x9s.

there well known as "speakers u will use once n not again" if u hook up a component kit and then hook up a pair of 6x9s u will notice a differnce.

there cheap, nasty and most are gimicy which no offence to any1 but tend to attract chavs!

most are just stuck into a parcel shelf, then a sub placed underneath, which again then makes them sound worse due to the fact the bass sent out by the sub distorts the cones on the 6x9s.

shocking, i guess u learn by ur mistakes thou.

i seriusly recommend u get a component kit, specialy if ur running a sub 2, find out the correct size of the coaxials in the front of ur car, then find a same size component kit, then ur only worry will be where to mount the tweeter and cross over.

Good luck, but its a complete waste of money.

Even more so if your not going to buy an amp to power them.
