it is a shame there isnt more transparency on this issue

im looking forward to playing on a server that has alot of people playing but ill be honest if exp potions are in the gameshop then it is p2w already...

having a distinct level advantage over other players because of your £££ input, yes will make you guys money but it will inevitably destroy your playerbase

im already a little put off and i was hyped to play :/

+1

Any items in the GG store that give an advantage to your characters IMO shouldn't be there. Keep it as close to Euro as possible and have a genuine experience.
As soon as EXP potions, stat boosts etc are added to the shop its P2W, those who can afford to thrown a few hundred £££'s at the game instantly get an advantage as they can hunt 24/7 with boosted stats and EXP gains. Where as those who can't afford to get nothing.

I would much rather see cosmetic items in the GG store that don't effect gameplay. Or small things like increasing your storage size. I'm also open to paying for a 30 "sub" that gives minor benefits/buffs but again its where do you draw the line between P2W and everyone having a level playing field.

If the GG store looks to be too P2W I'll be put off massively as it detracts from the game knowing people like Hells from Zircon can just splash the cash and be better than everyone else. Would appreciate a little more clarity from the Apoc team.

See I get servers need to make cash.
BUT
I feel anything that has a direct impact such as exp/stat pots need to be delayed after the first week or so (imo)
after then you can potentially introduce them, to me on the condition they can be obtained other ways (so p2w isnt as heavy of an aspect - yes you can donate and buy the items, but the non donators can still obtain these buffs - via other means (tokens from daily quests, hunt gold (like zircon) etc.)

To me, servers really underestimate how much cosmetics would bring in, being able to collect some from drops etc but having "GameStore exclusives" for weapon/armour skins as well as just stupid cosmetics, use a quid of gamegold, you can look like a santaclaus for an hour...

Edit:
I am not judging at all; server owners run their own servers, the way they want, however it wouldnt take 2 minutes to screenshot items in the gamestore and post it here to settle peoples minds.

people aren't asking so much what could be in there, in the future, i think mainly people want to know what advantages the pay players will have on launch day.

If you're going to add EXP potions maybe you should put them in a month or two after the server opens?

People have to realize this is a free game and the GM's are spending a lot of time/money keeping the server running. A cash shop is a necessary evil.

i don't sit and fish pal, if i did id leave the house.

:) i love how you think LOF is just a fishing server, tbh its too difficult for people who just want to log on level and throw cash at it to get something without effort.

I don't mind the exp pots in theory. Lets face it, they should recoup the costs in some way.

But it needs to be realistic. If i need to farm for an hour to buy a 3h exp pot with gold, thats all good. I can donate a few $ on the weekends & the guy next to me donating $50 a week can have a few hours boost extra. If an exp pot costs more in gold than a full set of gear at the AH (like it did on EE) then that's a whole other story.

Anything with stats is simply a no-go.

same people posting over and over, crying about exp pots! there going to be ingame have been(for years) an always will to say you're not going to play because of them is funny! they need to make money at the end of the day an exp pots always sell. there not really game braking its still a grind non the less. people who are willing to get GG help the server team staying dedicated to it, an also give them a little boost get over it lets be honest!

I don't believe any ones crying it's more of a case of a discussion and opinion ? either way wont bother me in the slightest. (as i may play or not will see how it goes).

Have fun!

This is way i recommended a subscription to donate every month or so for a fair few benefits and not a huge advantage over people without a subscription but all i got was get ignored i hate exp pots tbh a subscription is another way of the gm's gaining money and for a long term it is true exp pots have been going on for years in some servers but you guys can change that i bet you that alot of people will stay in for the long term and it will be a different playstyle exp pots does alot of damage to a server but i guess some people cant see it and now were getting exp pots from launch lol

Oh please, most of you moaning about gameshop will be trampled by the stampeding herd of hardcores that are inevitably going to ruin you regardless due to the sheer amount of time they put into the game.

Can throw whatever the hell they like in the Gshop, it's not going to matter. They will always be vastly ahead of you.

Then you have the Wallet Warriors, the Saudi Kings, who have all the gear and yet no idea. Probably the most fun people to PK as they're like a walking loot Piñata.

Play your own game and stop worrying about other people for a change and you just might have some fun. I'm sure they won't make it too ridiculous, and if they do and it disgusts you to the very fibre of your being, you could just not play.

I would much prefer a sub type model as well, GG store with a "buff" item that lasts 30 days. Small buffs like 10% EXP, 10% gold, 10% drop, +10 storage spaces.

If they really wanted to offer a few different subscription models they could offer tiers for an increased cost. Only one buff active at a time etc etc etc this curbs those who can throw a few hundred quid into a server vs those who can maybe only sub a tenner a month. Rather see a larger player base stick about and purchase the sub, than some big spender who comes in spends a small fortune, trashes the servers economy, and can lead to other people quitting because they level too fast or they are too powerful in PvP due to being overlevelled.

even if there is no exp pot in the GS, some people would still hire other people to leveling for them to be ahead of other players as we have seen in the past servers. nothing will stop the credit card warrior, just dont make the exp pot to add too much %, 20%/30% which is totally fine
