ahh the good old kubuntu! I had an argument that lasted almost 2 hours (constantly) over which is better, ubuntu or kubuntu, as a KDE fan i had to say kubuntu, but gnome seems to be pretty popular now.

I plan on installing SuSE or Fedora when i have time

This is an endless argument, similar to which came first: The chicken or the egg, Obviously its down to personal preference, and KDE is nice, i haven't used the latest version of gnome, is it nice?

No point in arguing, each to their own.
KDE has DCOP, which is really quite powerful and useful. XFCE is good aswell.

Havn't used gnome in a while, but there was something about it I didn't like last time i tried it.
