I like the element thing, but the reason i dont like mir3 is its to complicated with the elements, its hastle putting the right elements onto a wep etc.
Mir2 is basic thats why i like it.

But obv its not up to us so just have to see what Jamie does.

these are files which people can make a server with they dont have to have the elements in they server if they dont like it. i think jamieM is doing this to make creating a server easier. jamieM tell me if i am wrong.

as far as i understood if you dont set elements onto the mob stats or on the items they do not work ingame.. so i'm guessing that if you create monsters with all the elements fields setted to 0 and items with the same 0s in the element fields then they shouldn't make any difference to the classic mir we are used to

As far as i'm aware, all of the additions that Jamie is making are purely optional.

So you can choose to have elements, choose to have mob spells, choose to have a 1680x1050 res etc lol.

You can choose to not have elements and go full MC/SC/DC like on mir3. However element resistance will be important if it's like Mir3 element wise, which it looks similar too. A full advantage kit will make things a lot easier. Element system is good imo because it adds more strategy and depth.

I think he means when jamie releases his files, the server runners will have the option to allow elements ingame or not.

he is, so youll be waiting a good few months or a year if it takes off lol

From what I read I thought it was along the lines of..

- He's going to run a server and release the server files so people can host their own.

- If his server doesn't work too well then he'd release the source codes to the server files.

Obviously he has complete control regardless (they are his work) and running a server with whatever Mir he has in mind is his goal. If it doesn't work out, then he'd probably let the community work on it.

That's my take on it, not sure if it's fully correct or not.

Yeh he said he's going to give his own server a go, then when that goes down, he'll release.

Never have understood why people seem to think having multiple servers with the same files gives less chance of success lol.

Regardless if these files are 20x more brilliant than any others, if the server itself sucks it aint going anywhere whethers 10 teams have them or just him lol.

If it's a really good server, people are going to play it. If he hands files out, and someone makes a better server, people are going to play that.

cause ppl will just take 1 of the public server files like torozor, or crusade, and transfer it onto these files.

put it online, very badly done, but because it has new things like tigers, fishing, and cause its a new server, ppl will play

the host will then snap up a donation list, make some money, then when things all get abit 2 much, theres a few 2 many moans, some unfixable bugs etc, the server will go down
