I would be happy with this change, 2 classes for each stat is great for item balance and I wouldn't mind selling up my dc stuff :)

If you want mc items reroll a wiz? Words of wisdom there hocus. Cheers for that. Everyone go back to what you were doing. Hocuspocus has given the answer.

I read something earlier which was a similar idea to what I was thinking. Make it so that dc when worn on an archer converts to an mc equivalent. But make it so that mc would be slightly more valuable. Which would gradually phase out dc items/make people want to sell and get mc gear if they wanted to improve their damage. Or something along those lines :) And obviously weapons would be changed to an equivalent amount of mc to their current dc damage.

I honestly think (and reading this feedback has confirmed it) that changing it over would be good for the long term life of the server and the archer class.

If it stays the way it is, you'll end up with 3 or 4 people playing Archer.

They need to be balanced and this is the first step to reworking their balance.

Put it to the vote Sam?

There is still no sensible way of achieving it...

Sure we can give MC items when an Archer puts on a DC item... However, what about his storage items? What happens when an Archer gets a power ring drop and wants the MC eqiv, he will just put it on... This type of automatic system can be massively abused and hurt the life span of the server.

At the moment I can't think of a suitable way of doing this, bar going through each character one by one and changing items manually... Even then, they might not want all of their DC items changed, they might want to keep their DC items and build up a new MC kit...

It is kind of an impossible situation...

Don't change any items. (aside from weapons/arrows anything class specific, but that can be done database side so that it changes them all)
Give archers a months notice before the change, They can sell the DC if they want to and start gemming/buying MC (at half the price the DC costs)

Id suggest poll option of.

Yes change archer to MC - Player to rebuild kit themselves
No leave Archer as DC

You really don't have to worry about upsetting the archers by making them re-kit if they are going to be beasts anyway.

DC Example - DC 100 (took time and effort to kit) Fire shot damage 200 (example)
MC Example - MC 50 plain Violets, DragBracers, armour, dbells. FireShot damage 200.

Then!!! every archer with some DC to sell can respec and start building the damage up to where an archer should be.
+3 vios, +3 dbells +3 bracers = fireshot damage 400..

all examples but major point is.
Change them to MC - Then make a 100dc archer hit the same as it currently does with basic MC TM kit. not a single archer will complain about having the same damage as before in basic MC kit (worse kit) and still have dc items left to sell..

Seems a lot more simple than you lot are making it out to be honest, so far as I can see. DC is more expensive than MC, and the conversion is only going one way, not both.

Simply change it so Archer's use MC instead of DC, leave the items as they are.

People sell their current DC gear and can easily buy/make equivalent or better due to the favourable conversion. This would also mean a slight spike in demand and price of MC gear, and the opposite in DC gear, evening the 2 out abit more.

A few people who will complain because they use the same gear on multiple characters or feel their class isn't benefitting from it. Ie, Wizzies will have to pay a little more for stuff. But it ultimately balances the game a lot more.
