Hey Team,

ok i know that you have a client check when using the auto patch version of the game, but you seem to not have a client check when you do the multi client way

does this mean you have the ability to hex edit the .dat (renamed to exe) and the server doesnt check to see if there are any discrepencies? ending up with old run threw cheats/auto rev like on early euro files?

if so wouldnt it be a idea to force a server side check of the client and kick them if its incorrect.

There was such a check in place at one point (I logged in with an out of date .exe before and was immediately kicked), but I've also noticed this doesn't seem to have been enforced for the past few patches.

We have a client version yes, we only update it when someone can gain an advantage through using an old client though.

If that's the case I don't see why they don't just disable the workaround for getting multiple clients to run.

My only problem with that would be I can't afk mine and leave the computer. I would have to watch it constantly like we do now (obviously with multiple clients you can hunt while mining atm).

Modifying the exe file before you run it would be a silly way of cheating anyway since you wouldn't be able to turn anything off ever.

That being said there isn't really much point in a client check sum, apart from the reason which Samuel said above.
