The complete lack of communication is seriously affecting the user count, it’s also allowing people free reign to do things that previously you would’ve either been around in discord or in game to stop, there are countless shouts in game on a daily basis for people selling gold or accounts for £££.

I understand that the thread in this exact forum calling out your overall integrity was without basis (as far as I can tell and from what I’ve seen) however it seems since it happened the communication has gone from generally being poor (with a few very good periods of communication) to just radio silence.

If the bullshit/drama on discord is too much that’s fine, but I personally and quite a lot of others found out about this server from lomcn, there’s a separate moderation team here who do it on your behalf if needs be.

Some form of communication even if it’s telling us to **** off and you’ve done a runner is better than the radio silence we’re getting now.

If it's discord, turn it into a read only channel for updates for people who don't use LOMCN, or tell people you are only using LOMCN only.

One thing I will be doing a lot more is making use of these forums, as they are moderated (so less stress) and its easier to track peoples ideas and feedback without seeing an armada of spam

I dont want to speak on their behalf but they may just have a bit of burnout and need a bit of time to recoup.

I don't plan on wasting my precious time on a server were the admins are intermittent at best. Some people are still holding out hoping it will get better but it doesn't look good at all.

Ahh, don't play it so not sure on what's been going on, was just making assumptions!
Hopefully they do come back with the communication side of things

Dont worry we're still about and working in the background, I've personally not had much time for discord latley - took some time to spend with the family over christmas and new year. Hope you all had a good one and enjoyed the event!

Honestly didnt think anyone would notice; seeing as we already have a bad track record for 'none existant' communication

I may start using the forum more these days, keeping on top of discord can be very time consuming!

"toxicity" doesn't exist from nothing, you don't look at the cause and think you're automatically above it at all times.

I never played Apoc but I was easily able to gather enough information from discussions that there were obvious mistakes whether it be the scaling of skills or just a complete lack of understanding/care.

What do you expect to happen exactly?

(Good as gold consumer) : "I completely understand you need to fix XXXX, balancing, certain areas and the rest, thank you for going live for a month I'll just take my time" . Sounds like a cuck to me than the opposite of "toxicity", you reap what you sow, didn't you guys even have a long beta??

Understanding mmo life, players/groups progression and listening/changing based off of consumers needs is a skill, evidently, you guys simply lacked in these areas and server owners like Jamie care more about their own projects/success than they do about the welfare of others. Of course looking after number 1 is priority but you can't simply expect half baked measures or ideas are enough for you to get a pass on any scale of leeching from consumers.

Valk and Herc are for me the only evidence of satsifactory level of care for their playerbase (I also think Lightbringer is good but sadly haven't had the opportunity to play) and Valk's V1 was popular, I was modding the discord and there was barely any down right nasty "toxicity" happening, even when rested XP was bugged to christ, the trying and the effort was evident.

If any of you think you're qualified to be a server owner I'll be happy to tell you your faults and if you think I'm full of myself I'll be happy to discuss my faults as a player/"vocal instigator" :P

Ok then.

1. Valk literally went AWOL after 2 months, how is that a satisfactory level of care for his playerbase?
2. DVS was merely commenting on Discord in general and you decided to take a shot at him about a server from 2 years ago that you didn't even play?

Based on those 2 facts your views are obviously highly subjective. It's also easy to stand on the other side of the fence and throw stones/tell people how they should have done better with no first hand experience yourself

My opinion right now is just what i see @WelshSteel, what Valk v1 had that unique that you keep mentioning that server like it was some sort of revolutionary server that reinvented the Mir?

From what i see outside by not playing but looking at adverts... Valk was a mixture of mir2/3 maps, same as TPR.

Maybe his v2 will be interesting and bringing something new and revolutionary, but so far you push this VALK VALK VALK worse than LightBringer and his v2.


PS: Theres server like @Sanjian 's that imo is more interesting than any mir2 out atm.

I regret being in work right now but i'll just swallow this for now but come on Apoc forum was proper kicking off are these all simply turds of the community, I don't see them like that. I even made suggestions but unfortuntely some of you are too rooted in the mechanics of how mir worked in the year 2000 to see sense.

Revolutionary is not an over statement btw and even though sanjan's server appears to be a nice place to be it doesn't appear to drive an competiveness, which is imo easier, subjective I know but I am a fan of a broad spectrum of mmo principles.

With regards to Welsh's comment, if you had played the server perhaps you would have a valid comment. I do however agree that we failed on many levels however complete lack of understanding and care im afraid is not 1 But hey keep that tongue brown and you will see yourself "modding" v2 of valknever hehe. Joking aside my original comment was just saying perhaps where most servers go wrong is they don't have super independent amazing mods like yourself to monitor and we as a development team will note that when we release APOC V2 in 2031 will not have a discord

@DiabloVodkaShot I am amazing but that's beside the point ok I think by 2031 there will be a Twitter version of Discord called TwitterMax that will have 100,000 indians moderating every chat so you'll have a safe Discord platform by then!

I'm just a keen observer, I don't know why 1st hand experience is necessary when a good portion of the community provides insight, I'd love to experience most ideas but when I see some advertisements that show lack of passion or are keeping very old Mir mechanics intact....in 2021, it just seems like a bit of a chore to get involved in.

It just appears to be too hard to have a solid Mir server so I'm on the attack, hope nothing is taken personally, it's my way of trying to egg people on. By the end of 2021 there should be some promising mmo's to play so fingers crossed that some Mir owners have their arses in gear before that point!

Right now I'm dissapointed that Discord is getting absolutely shat on btw, I have nothing but love for Forums but Discord is a VERY GOOD platform, just slow down the bloody chat mun! Put faith in a dedicated and mature player and make them a mod, it's not hard, Discord is there to help, not be this platform where you can't get a moments rest from the "potty mouths".

Learn to play the discord game peeps, it's fun to be together and spam nonsense/banter.....or just be lazy and call everyone trolls and toxic, the Harry and Meghan meta.

By all means have a discord server for what it was intended; a chat room/voice comms for the players, not where important feedback and staff-player communication is contained because therein lies the problem.

@Tai Forum offers a clean, formatted and organised feel for it so I do prefer that so I'm mostly in agreement.

You can have certain channels slowed right down to one message per many hours so that can work + if you hit Herc's discord right now he's making excellent use out of a polling channel, it's impressive so I'd say polling is way more efficient on there.

Just my 2 cents - hate discord for mir. Only use it as some servers it is mandatory to get files up and running. It is just people spam / bashing on each other. As above i would agree with Tai. Have it and use it for comms but use the thread for your updates / comms with your community.


@MonoLOL - as it's a sub forum will need to ask who the Artifical team choose as their forum mods to lock as I don't have access. On the main page at top will say who the mods are. Looks like Chriz / Longham / Wittin

By far the worst GMs I have ever seen absolute donuts i wasted a lot of time and money on that heap of ****, the communication is non existent the balancing was terrible the drops were terrible.
