Companion stat reroll.

I have rerolled my lvl 3 pig stat 29 times (that's 3625 Gold Hunt) and not even once have I gotten the stat I wanted (only once did I get HP but it was a piss poor value).

The reason I make this post is to discuss about the way rerolls work and possibly come up with an idea to make it more easy and enjoyable to the player because lets face it... all it takes is some dog **** luck like mine to make you go crazy and I can't even think about warriors who have to switch between different builds.

That said... a quick and easy fix would be to add an Elixir of regret targeted to certain stats, more expensive of course and make it so that it doesn't give you the maximum stat available (let's say... 75% max maybe?) to encourage players who want the max stat to reroll the usual way.


P.S: I'd like it that no fights arose in this thread as it benefits everyone, if you think an idea is bad all you have to do is point out why you think it wouldn't work or how to improve it and maybe share a better one.

I'd hate to see how much I've spent and only one of my stats is max. I have MC10, Exp+7, MC19. Probably somewhere around £200 in gg spent.

I'm happy with how it is so far, no need to change it in my mind.

The fact that you had to spend £200 is a problem itself but considering you wanted to max your stats I have nothing to say about it but the problem is still there, 3600+ Hunt Gold and not a single useable stat is something that needs a fix, a sort of bad luck prevention system just like drop.

It's an optional extra, it shouldn't be easy to get max desired stats.

Extra huh? everything is an extra, you can go around naked if you want because there's nothing mandatory. Also note that I said that the max stat you would get from that potion is 75% (or less) of the normal value at a highly increased cost. It's exactly the same as it is but instead of wasting 4000 Hunt Gold you spend... lets say 1-2k to get a somewhat useful stat (note that even if you roll that stat you might still get crap numbers) that is far from being maxed.

Not only does this act as some sort of bad luck prevention as you're in control of the stat you want but it also rewards the player for the time invested and doesn't make him think that he totally wasted weeks of gold hunt farming (because this is exactly what is happening to me, weeks wasted because extremely poor RNG)

No there doesn’t have to be some sort of bad luck prevention. It’s unfortunate you didn’t get the stats you wanted but that’s just how RNG works.

I have however suggested to Jamie that he add a potion to reroll the value of a stat, for example you use the normal pig pots to get the stat you want, then a new potion to get a different value within that stat.

Does this game looks like a gambling casino to you? even if you wanted to spend 1000£ that would be your problem, I myself bought 30£ worth of game gold not because i needed them but as a form of support to the GMs but not everyone can do that and those who spend hours playing should be effectively "rewarded" in some way or at least whatever they got with their effort should not be useless.

I don’t mean hunt gold, I mean actual gold, you can just farm and buy potions. There isn’t any real restrictions other than it can take a while to get the stats you want.

Max stats? you illiterate ****, this potion would cost WAY more (1000 GH would be a good price) and would give you at most 75% of the max stat (so you can't possibly get 200HP, you would get 0-150) and this doesn't affect anyone, it's just a different route to secure no one gets super unlucky and gets no useful stats.

I appreciate an opinion but if you're just going to be rude you can light it on fire and shove it up your ass you imbecile.

I already asked Jamie something similar when I was going for mana on my Sin, he said there wasn't any plans for a potion that rolled the current pig stat you had.

You may need to just keep trying, I recently just spent around 2000 GG to get something useful, it's a pain but it's worth it.

I don’t think here is any need to be so hostile. As multiple people have said it’s fine, potions are 125gg/hg or 1m in-game gold. What isn’t farmable about them that everyone can get the stats they want eventually?

If they were cash shop only I could understand your suggestion, however at that suggested price or even say 4x current price, they would have to offer max stat for anyone to want to buy them. I wouldn’t want to buy any at 1000gg/hg each if I couldn’t get higher than the level 5 & 7 I have now.

Will I gamble further on my stats? Probably at some point yes, if I want to min/max to that degree, I’m waiting on level 10 first to see what I need to spend there. Eventually I’ll have perfect stats that I want on this pig, then probably level another for a different build.

This is one of the systems I feel is pretty well balanced and thought out, it works and for those that can/want to spend via the cash shop it’s a pretty decent steady stream of income to the server.

This is hostile enough, not only he's not providing nothing to this post but he's telling someone who, as of now, has rerolled the pig 42 times... yea, no cost. Still no +HP, not even +1. The amount of gold and hunt gold i've spent is so ridiculous that it's insulting.

You are acting rather entitled about it all. 42 re-rolls is fairly little compared to the array that you are selecting from.

I agree with the OP.

Server was advertised as one that’s not pay to win. Some of the companion stats are very good... and require game gold to edit (a lot of game gold). If this is the only way to change the stats, and the stats are so good, how is that not pay to win?

A lot of dudes hunting in places where they would not even sniff if not for their companion stats.
