lol I just dont get it ><

I was goin 2 buy a Pentium D 3.4Ghz 800BusSpeed Processor.

I see a Intel DualCore Processor 2.9Ghz 1006BusSpeed and its like 400£ price difference.

Is the DualCore one alot better than the PentiumD one even tho it says its slower??

your thoughts plz;)

The Intel Duo Core wipes the floor with the other processor.

Although the clock speed on the Core 2 Duo is lower, it's architecture (how it does things) is alot better than the Pentium 4.

They're both dual core processors. Even though Core 2 Duo has less clockspeed, it does more work for in every MHz than a Pentium D (or anything else for that matter).

If I was to get a Core Dual Processor 2.13Ghz 1006Mhz etc etc.

Even the 2.13 one would be better than getting the Pentium D 3.4Ghz one?

Dual Core no doubt. Its more performant than HyperThreading technology, 2 cpu's in one. What do you think? Depends on what you will use the pc. Hosting servers/gaming, Dual Core is better, or home use u can get a PentiumD.

Intel Pentium D 945 Dual Core RET
P4 2x 3.4GHz & 2x 2Mb LGA775 BX80553945

Which costs £122

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 RET
2x 2.67 4Mb 1066 MHz LGA775 BX805576700

Which Costs £352.

What I dont understand is that the Pentium D is alot faster than the Core 2 Due one, cheaper and faster and theres like £200 difference in there:confused:

Would I be better off getting a more expensive processor (Intel Core 2 Duo) than the PentiumD.

Soz gettin abit confused not lolz:tongue1:

core 2 duo is better (i think). you should look at these numbers, more than the ghz.

4Mb and 1066 MHz the higher these two are, the better it will be, even if the ghz is quite low.

Think of the core 2 duo doing more work per MHz. Like someone said earlier.

The E6300 Core2 Duo rips the arse off that Pentium 4, and overclocked in a good system rips the arse off most AMD x2 4600+ overclocked proccesors, and prob the lower FX models, the E6700 has a larger cache so it is also better, the E6300 is only £120 so its better bang for your bucks.

Replace most with ALL :P

And if you game, then it's even worse with lower models (E6300) ripping the FX line apart.

Ohhh, bless Intel.
