Alright so I've done some research and I want whoever's having this problem to try a few things for me and report back.

Go into your Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options.

Firstly, ensure this is set to High Performance.

Then, go into that power setting (High Performance) and go into "change advanced power settings" and ensure you have the following:

Try this first, if nothing changes, I've got a few other things to try.

Thats all been checked, its all ok.
My problem has been less lately, yet nothing has been done this end, has anything been altered on the server?

Besides maybe running Zircon as an admin, It has to be down to your connection to the server through Virgin Media. If the problem gets worse or comes back, try changing your DNS settings https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using to googles one.

Incidentally, there are a few things I should mention. Your Upload speed is the most important "stat" you should care about besides ping, as if you go over your upload bandwidth it by default bottlenecks your download, as you need to be able to send acknowledging packets to nodes/servers. Virgin are great at offering high downloads but usually offer the worst upload speeds, so be careful of that if you like to upload things or are a heavy "seeder".

Secondly, Virgin Media users are on a fair usage policy, no matter what type of tier of broadband you bought from them. This means that during "peak times" they can and will throttle you. You can usually ring up to complain and they'll remove the throttle temporarily, but it is a giant pain in the ass. For gaming obviously this isn't ideal, so maybe look elsewhere and get a more dedicated line.

Well apart from playing zircon and the ocassional mir2 servers, I dont play online games nor do I upload or "seed".

My upload is a solid 6mb but that may or may not be ok, but as I said in an earlier post, this only happens on zircon and no other server or site.
How does changing the DNS settings alter the game play, when I connect to the IP address directly IPAddress=145.239.204.13
Port=7100 as far as I understand this does not need to be resolved through a name server, or does it?
