CTRL Key - How does everyone use it?

This may sound stupid, but as there is no guild chat to ask how people use it it'll have to be here cause i'm completely stuck right now.

Ever since the dawn of time my Microsoft Intellimouse (best mouse ever made.) has had CTRL assigned to the middle mouse button (wheel click) however, this Mir seems to prevent any/all software based Macros from working - making on my particular keyboard hitting anything more than Ctrl+F2 impossible without using 2 hands.

I'm aware G13/Nostromo, and Razer mice use a hardware solution for this (macros are stored on the device, so it's not a local thing Mir.exe can stop)

Are other people struggling with this, or has someone found a macro that works ? - or does everyone just have Razer products at this point.

what do you use macros for? can you not just play like everyone :P

Only Microsofts own software package for the mouse that's about as old as mir itself - I can't understand how people can effectively play using 2 hands :P

I honest thought everyone had assigned ctrl to the mouse button as the norm!

Ctrl+F2 is one-handable... anything past that is a stretch / not at all natural, and would require 2 hands.

so the issue here is using the CTRL+Fkeys for the secondary spells?

i actually thought no one used them.. i put all the spells into the Fkeys and dump the others..

looks like there is soo many ways to play this game.. i probably play the crap way i think.. using a normal M305 logitech mouse and a normal (non mechanical) keyboard with nothing else.. lol

I do this too

On a warrior all you need is
f1-tdb f2-fs f3-sd.

wizard
f1- fd f2-fc f3-ms f4-ff f5-icestorm f6-met strike

Only class it could be a problem is a tao, but lets be honest most taos only use pois/pet/sfb/buff1/buff2/heal

I never run out of fkeys! :P

Indeed, as a Taoist my regular skills are
Heal > Poison > SFB > BA > SS > Hide > Mass Hide > Summon Skele (8 Keys used.)... with required use of Revelation for bosses, Trap Hex to counter lures/drama, Purification for both PvE/PvP,

Plus Mass healing, Shinsu, Curse, Deva etc when available - basically there are no throw-away skills or skills that can hot swapped on short notice. (Maybe normal healing at later level when MP allows)

Has never been an issue in the past as my mouse is 10 years or more old, and it came with a hotkey assignment for the Middle button + other macro programs can replicate it, but this Mir seems to prevent that... I'm surprised more people haven't posted to be fair, but using 2 hands or stretching across the keyboard awkwardly at a moments notice isn't working for me by a long shot.

G19 Logitech Keyboard ;)

It also allows for easy afk skill leveling, set a certain key to a toggle rather than leaving something heavy on it lol

But I use to suffer from the same issue

All these years and so many custom versions of Mir. Yet we still have no version where players can set their own key bindings.

I use the left ctrl key + f1,2,3,4 and the right ctrl key for f5,6,7,8, basically have my thumb on ctrl and little finger hitting them, however I put skills I rarely use on those keys.

Problem solved! This is the particular one I have at a hefty price, but keypads are just awesome! No stretchy hands for this guy on games!

We do have custom key bindings located in your client folder\Config\Chronicles\CharName\CustomKey.ini
I'm not entirely certain this still works, it worked on Ace when I tried, so assume so.
