This is purely for my own curiosity as I had never even considered there being a population of players who do not enjoy the PK side of Mir...

I am only adding to options to the poll as I really would like a clear cut result...

"I play for the game and would turn of pk if I could" - This theoretically would result in you not being able to attack players, and them not being able to attack you.

"I play for the game and enjoy a fight with it" - This is as we all know Mir...

Play to have with fun guild members, group hunting mostly. Do not pvp.

I would choose a 3rd Option, Have no punishment for PKing.

No Curse, No Red/Yellow.

If 3rd Option isn't available then I would choose no PK.

Can't get random pk in many games these days, this is a quality Mir always attracted me to,
yea I get sick of being zerged by certain guilds, but I have a little cry and a little **** and crack on with my Mir life

I enjoy the PVE side of Mir and my motivation for improvement is not the PK, but the hunting and building kit, lvling skills, keeping in touch with my m8s, etc. I personally find PK boring and my self esteem doesn't "shine" if I kill another player or if I steal some1's boss. I do enjoy SW fights when the fight is done just for fun. One thing I dislike in particular is the PK for items. On Euro, the body drop from PK was removed and I liked that better.

Wouldn't turn PK off as group fights can b fun. But I prefer to kill the red dots IMO.

its annoying getting jumped for no reason, but i wouldnt play without it. from a roleplaying point of view we are meant to be heroes or villains in the land of mir and pk really allows ppl to fulfil these roles.

look at WoW for example, alliance and Horde, good and evil. but they both feel like ur playing heroes. sucks tbh.

Not the best choices there.
I don't care about PVPing, it's not something I enjoy doing but it's a part of Mir and I wouldn't want it removed.

I also agree with Violet9; guild and group fighting is good for fighting over bosses, etc., but random pking people for items is irritating.

Could combine Jamie's suggestion with Violet's. No punishment for pking a player, and no chance of dropping your gear. Have to feel for the players who invest a huge amount of time into their items only to lose them.

There are positives and negatives to this though.

You would still have the ability to kill people to gain control over a map or to get a boss. You might have people luring on doors more often than they do now, but you would also be free to lure off them too anyway. Players would be luring on others in high end caves with no fear of drops.

The longest running and most popular Mir servers had no body drops if I remember correctly. This is sure to be a highly divisive topic and no doubt would require some time to analyse before any changes came in.

Maybe you could make certain dungeons no pk in the future? .. But most should be pk zones, its a massive part of mir

I dont PK but if people wanna do it that's fair enough, what i dont like about the PKing in Mir is the fact that a) you can be PKed by someone any level above you, being 1shotted by a cheating Sin 20 lvls above you is not fun or fair gameplay.

and

b) you drop from your body. There you are minding your own business and a higher lvl player comes PKs you having the advantage of levels and skills over you see point (a) and there's a chance you will drop items and break your stone.

For that reason I chose the first option. But that's whats RT/TTs are for I suppose.

The only reason that PKing is good for the game is to stop people drop hogging/blocking. The punsihments for Pking are not near harsh enough imo.

I like to solo. Level at a steady pace (Too slow for me here :( ), be able to gain semi decent stuff from killing normal mobs and the occasional expensive item drop from a normal mob (Mainly skills).

Then I enjoy a random fight with someone if they start or are in rival guilds.
I also like a guild hunt, but only a big guild hunt.

then **** off back to WoW. who really wants to sit around killing bosses which lets be honest here its mir the AI is a joke for all bosses always has been always will be. if u dont like PVP then your playing the wrong game end off. grow some balls

mir has always for me, been about the open pvp. dunno about u guys but i still get a buzz now, from starting or being attacked randomly in a cave or at a boss adds something thats missing from 90 % of new games.

if anything PK points on kill should be lowered or not last as long, you get in to a mass pvp drop 3+ people and ur out the game for while its 2014 now not 2004

while i not one for pvp it is what has always made mir what mir is sometimes u will get lucky and get the boss sometimes u wont . Those who feel big and clever killing those of a much lower lvl are those we should feel for as they cant have much of a life :)
