Our Cineworld is £4 for a student ticket, Vue is the same.

Costs me £4 to get into town and back home though + then you need a drink or something for when your in the cinema :P.

If i go to the cinema i end up spending around £12

The book is good, but only because the author knows to to write suspensfully, and create an atmosphere of creepiness etc.

The film I doubt will be as good, as for the book Angels & Demons is far better

I get free transport, and i said 10 because ticket = 3.50x2=7quid 2xpopcorn = round 10quid. Oviosly id go over but just said as an estimate.

Anyways anyone seen the film? was gonna take a friend and go with her today but after what i seen on discovery changed my mind. Basically it was a documentary about what the book claims, and they tested it and it proved to be full of bullshet.

Nah, I'm going to see it next week hopefully, it's been slaughtered by the critics, Tom Hanks really doesn't make a good Langdon, someone like well, I can't remember his name right now, but he would be a good langdon

The book isn't meant to be truth, it's only loosely based on theories - it's not factual and therefore you shouldn't take it at face value, but i does have a basis on things that have happened, and all in all is an excellent book. In my opinion angels and demons was a hell of a lot better than The Da Vinci Code.

The material Dan Brown used to compose this story has infact been circling around for over thirty years and the actual history has been here since Yeshua and for some parts before.

I'm always hoping stories like this will provide more basis for alternate history and encourage lots of people to look at our past and what makes our culture.

There was too much information to squash into one film and they had to rush through a lot of it, at the cost of some bad (hasty) acting and quick cut scenes. A lot of the things mentioned fly straight over most people's heads, but thats why the books is so good at explaining the story properly. The one part that the movie did clarify for me is the escape of the fugitives from the aeroplane on their arrival at london. I got a bit confused in the book.

Would recommend it, but a lot of my non-historical-savy friends found the use of religious terminology and boatload of history a bit off putting and the anticlimax ending didn't satisfy them.

ps - Angels and Demons is good, hope they make a movie of it; I still can't visualise the dark matter =_=

pps - shouldn't this be in the TV, Film and Review section?
