DDOS attacks on servers

Seems here of late, most servers are having issues with DDOS attacks... StormMir3 is down to upgrade to this, and Sting3G, has been laggy at times and ingame chat going about of ddos being mentioned. I'm just wondering if any server owners can post something as to whether they are or not.

Yeah our Storm server has been taken down , we had a univirsity connection and they have brought down the entire uni >< potentially 30k computers attacking it we are looking for a new host right now but its really annyoing.

Do any server owners know of any decent dedicated hosts that we could use? Weve got cash waiting.

for those that have Windows cmd dos

netstat -an

close open ports UDP ports


Some roouters have dos protection/ Motorola- AT&T

Netgear

sygate firewall has Dos detection.. sad is we cant use Trendmicro/ cisco they only support win7 and 8 alot more security, can see all the ports and what they are doing, Forward ports too, alot of port forwarding with win7 on Youtube
