Well i found this and i think it would be fine but can some one just make sure

* 2.4 GHz Intel Celeron
* 512 MB RAM
* 80 GB IDE hard disk
* 512 Kbps data pipe
* Uncapped data transfer
* Full remote control

To host 24/7 WoooL server takes less resource to run than a mir 1.9 server should this be ok?

You'd be perfeclty fine reducing the processor a lot furthur, and the hard drive too. (If what you say about less resources is true)

Right now i use my Host comp for playing on and Hosting which is

3.1 GHz P4
2MB Memory
512kb BroadBand
30GB Hard Disk
On Wireless Network shared between another 3 PCs

And works great! I know its more powerful but it runs a dream

I dont see why not If MentaL can host a Mir2 server which the creators are english i shoudnt see a problem if the Shanda are chinese. Plus its an Emu not offical files the only reason i should be able to get any problems from is from the client side as been discussed many times and thats not down to me that would be users!

Thats a very niave viewpoint Xander, you should research it a lot more throughly - you will find that if they decide to go ahead you would be in a lot more trouble than you think. However if your hosts don't check what your running, there shouldn't be a problem from there side - or Shanda which as far as I know, have taken little or no action against hosters/users.

Could read the TOS of your host too. (But like I said, I doubt they'll check or know)

Lastly, your requirements are far too high CPU wise. and maybe too low Memory wise (if its for a lot of players)

Thing with my host is that im a contract user and i take full responsability for hosting it and i take all legal obligations, they know the server is technically illegal but i bought the ded server knowing mir2 would be a hit and it is, but remember woool is a new game it needs to offer something unique before becoming dedicated..

START LOCAL !!! then go to dedicated in say 4 months time.... trust me :P

// MentaL

PS celerons are ****, ur cpu usage will be sky high, atm im using a p4 3ghz super server ...

...because its cheap. The celeron is fine for server hosting, any Celeron above 800mhz would be fine for a average spawn server. (Assuming the dedicated server isn't shared between different suscribers)

Be internet hopes to introduce 1.3mbps uploading, but being able to get BE is a matter of is your exchanges loops are unbundled.

Im sure business broadband however allows you to go as fast as you want if your willing to cough up the money.
