Hi all,

Curious as to the design intent behind the new turtle zone? I am having difficulties understanding what it is supposed to fulfill as far as "new" content.

It is an absolute behemoth of a map which serves to make finding the boss and sub a nightmare, but does allow for a lot of space for lots of people to level in there? However difficultly of the monsters and amount of experience received (even after exp change) is par at best with the rest of the current content. This coupled with from what I can tell and have heard so far as not useful drops leads me to be curious what the intent of the new content for? Is it intended to be on par with everything else just different skins to supply variety?

Seems you would want to create a zone that is one of:

1. really good/unique/new drops and bad exp
2. really good exp and bad drops
3. average drops but with new items and average exp
4. really really hard with one of the above but meant for groups
5. a place designed for bossing
6. a place intended for pvp

It doesn't appear to fit into any of these categories

I said in the other thread I was reviewing the area.

I was super tired and unwell when I did the exp before the reboot and made a boo boo uping it

Review includes drops, spawns, exp and bosses

It's a Turtle shaped map, spawning copious heroes in a half shell and AFAIK they missed a huge opportunity to call the boss Blastoise and finally introduce Pokemon into the game :( what more is there to know!

On a serious note i thought it was supposed to fit into them categories (in your quote, cut out the ones that i didnt think applied).

Might be wrong though :P

Blastoise, known as the Shellfish Pokémon, is the final stage in Squirtle evolution. It takes on an appearance radically different from its previous forms; the most obvious change is the addition of two retractable cannons on its shell.

So the intent of turtles is to give the average player somewhere to go and do some solo/small group hunting. It is intended to not be worth going to for the bigger guilds who can kill Orc/Jinchon etc.

As BH says he will be reviewing the drops etc... But I would encourage that only the pot drops are reviewed for normal mobs, the boss/subs are fine and if they started dropping well then the larger guilds will hound them and the smaller guys won't have one less place to go for a chance of a drop.

Turtles - Very much aimed at solo/small groups.
TBA - Very much aimed at higher levels between 45-50 and group boss (on the same level as orcs/jinchon to an extent).
TBA - Aimed at 50+, will be very hard will require a group and some strategy.

I would like the odd book /weapon to drop as well keep the interest going in there sam otherwise back to square one be better going numa
the solo/small groups don't get a crack at bosses for these items hence the prices in tm also real cash sales .

What is the level of Hell?

Will there be a high level leveling place besides Numa?
Turtles were designed for 40-45, will there be a leveling place designed for 50+?

Be pretty sweet if you could implement a "group buff" on turtle island, instead of playing with exp figures give it an alternative twist.

"If in a group of two gain 3k extra exp per kill"

If a system like this could be successfully implemented (certain "conditions" for different areas) you could put some great twists in the game and put barriers in place to manage your contents life span more effectively.

Not sure how easy it would be but I'm thinking that the Mini Map has some sort of code that looks for grouped players in your area already.
so adapting that into something like

*Red or Green Poisoned* if no group members on minimap. (could apply this to hell, orcs, jinchon) to promote group hunting/clearing
*-10 AC, -10 AMC -5 PrimaryStat, x1.2 exp* if 1+ group member(s) on your minimap (apply this to turtles)
would also help the lower level tao's who cant find hunting partners., BA and SS and UE would negate the negatives and the exp boost would make it viable but only if grouped.

the possibilities are endless.

People have got to the stage in the game where they don't need taos for leveling or if they hunt in higher caves (e.g. Hell) then they use somebody else's or their own tao to poison mobs (ungrouped) and kill them on their main. I think adding a group bonus would encourage people to group up. Not everyone has the funds to pay Romanians to level their character like BigStar / Tornado.

As a tao I speak from experience and most of my exp is gained from clearing through caves to go to a boss. Maybe once a month or twice a month I'll get a 1 - 2 hour leveling hunt with someone.

All good saying there will be these caves you speak of, but are they gonna take 6months+ to release, each?

Be cool if you could put some kind of storyline to go along with the new area.
Then have a main quest line to follow this. Then once this is complete - daily quests.

You could also create perhaps a Turtle Buff, which is gained from killing them...this grants say
1min worth extra exp(50%) upto 10mins..
30secs upto 20
15secs upto 30

Then you can farm as you hunt, but if you leave Turtle map this will remove the buff.

There is a lot you can do. I think with such a low rate replayable content and farming should be key.
As to not make the game feel static...
