I need to know if its possible to turn on/off raid. My pc is dell.

I have 4 options to chose from when i boot -

RAID Autodetect/ AHCI
RAID Autodetect/ ATA
RAID On
Combination

the default is RAID Autodetect/ AHCI.

This computer uses Intel(R) matrix storage console. Anyways if i chose to turn my raid off, will this mean all the information will be lost? I just need raid to be disabled for about a window's load and nothing more.

I have raid 0. And its set as " RAID Autodetect/ AHCI" (default).

I think if i have it in " Combination " it would disable raid, i tried it but basically the system did not start up, i got some ms dos commands and it basically telling me to change the optinos back, which i did then it worked fine.

Also i dont supose you know how i can boot from disk?

When i press f12, i get some weird "boot" options like boot from usb/cd/drive or something like that, i chose it and i get error's. I tried to configure it but it doesnt allow me to add any more, its like the max, lol and i chose more or less all the possible ones that might 'run' the disk. Damn dell!.

boot from CD would run the disk - IF its a bootable disk.

No idea about raid 0, i tend not to do raid except a little bit of raid 5.

RAID0 is spanned, if you currently have a RAID setup the only way is to wipe everything.
