I'm currently running a dedi for the Artifical server, it's not running on a 2ghz celeron (which should be more than enough and normally is).

The server averages about 60-70% idle, most of the remaining being taken by m2server, but not enough to worry about.

Anyway, in roughly 30 second intervals m2server.exe will eat 100% of the CPU causing ingame implications for the players.

What process does the m2server run at these intervals to cause this? Even setting the process to real time achieves nothing.

this has been discussed before, check the lottery txt files and adjust the amount of tickets it reloads every 1 min

Thanks, that's definitely sorted one of the issues... but not the 100% one.

They are exactly 1 minute apart.

i would put it down to npcs and merchants, basicly all the clothes, jewlery crafting npcs etc etc all reload there items at an interval thats set in there scripts, ie 1min 2 min 3 mins etc etc, best thing to do is spend abit of time in the merchant folder going through the scripts and lowering the numbers which it reloads they will have something like basedress(M) 100 1 (also just to let you know the reloading of npc items has the same effect as if you spawned 100 mobs every 1 min)

sorry of you know this but the orders are itemname amount time

it may not 100% be that but i would imagine it is as its obviously a server driven occurance with the cpu usage, if there thedeaths files he may be able to shed abit more info on what it could be, iam running td's files and dont get this issue.
