I also need help setting up my server behind a router. I have forwarded my DMZ to my computer on the network and all my ips (in my .txt + .ini files) are set as 192.168.8.2. When i connect using the internet ip i recieve this error:

No connection could be made because the server is activly refusing it.

---- I found this info On here somewhere but seems threads drop off - Good Job I kept it to be honest and its actually easier that it looks. -----

Ok this is how you do it

Best way isn't to use the DMZ function. Simply port forward 7000, 7100 and 7200 to the mir server and that's all thats required. (also Port Forward 3000 if you want ServerControl to see how many is online - thanks LEO)

Next in the dbsrv300 folder and !serverinfo.txt type in your external ips..

Local IP,Net Ip:7200

in the LoginSrv program double click on the whitespace and specify the external ip as the gate and make sure its ticked.

As long as the gate ip's are allways the external addresses the mir player's clients will allways get told the correct place to go. - The Line 0 (first One) needs to read External Net IP not local IP.

They are the two places you have to set the gate ip's. Warning: if you wanna access it from the lan you have to change the gate ips to local addresses so you can connect.

Basically it works like this:

Mir Client connects to login gate @ port 7000. The gate gets the port 7100 and ip from the LoginSrv program (where you typed in the gate ip) and then tells your mir client to connect to that ip for the SelChr gate.. You client then connects to the selchr gate which talks to the DBServer program and returns the :7200 which is the RunGate. This will then get your client into the actual server..

Hope that helps

---------------

Now - something to bear in Mind - You cannot type in the local IP and connect to game on your LAN (on my router you cannot anyhow) - to play the game - just use the NET IP and providing your router allows it (mine does) you should be able to play the game much as everybody else..

Cheers for all the help but unfotunantly I have screwed up all my files lol with all these ips. Please could you possibly tell me every file i need to edit in each folder and what i need to add? That would be a big help!

My Local IP is: 192.168.8.2
My Net IP is:81.128.85.121

Thanks again.

Sorry i possibly was a bit to demanding.

Please could you possibly tell me what i need to add and what files need to changed just like the first post in this topic.

Basicly we all need a tutorial how to setup a Mir3 server behind a router. I have been reading all related topics in this forum and every one else whos having this problem asked to know which files were needing editing but with no success.

I have setup my router to port forward to the server with ports: 7000, 7100, 7200 so all i need to know is what files and what to edit in them.

Regards,
Assassin

(Wow typed all that with a cut finger and now its bleeding so u'd better answer :))

Well what i did first off was run the server using Servercontrol - this i think puts all the ips in the right place.

Now once your happy it works local - then all you need to is follow my post - forward the ports it says to the IP running the Server (make sure you ran server using Network IP not 127.0.0.1) and it all should work...

Other way it to go through each dir on MIR3, edit any file that has a IP in, make sure it says your Local IP, and change above. If you use Server control - no matter how hard you try - it will revert all your IP;s - SO the moral of the story is - dont use Server control if you want to run via a router..
