I can't find the article yet but i will do in a sec, just heard on the radio that in America a radio station held a competition for a WII. You had to drink as much water as possible in one hour without going to the toilet.

One woman drank 7 and a half litres of water and won the competition only to die 4 hours later.

The radio station is getting sued for it i think along with alot of sacked radio station staff.

Heres the article

She deserved it, there were clear health risks which she obviously ignored.

They said the radio station had a nurse/doctor there and he/she said it was not good to drink that much water and the staff just laughed.

Like BH said, this was in the news a week or 2 ago =p, t'was kinda unfiar but it has something to do with the cells in your brain expanding due to too much water.

can i just point something out...due to radio NOT being a visual communication, how could the radio DJ's even know how much water or prove how much water is being drunk the first place?

The Key word in the story is "America" so they probably stand to make a cool million or so from it. But don't feel disheartned by that, the UK is managing to catch up on the trend, nothing better than suing the life out of everyone and everything.

An article I recently read pointed out the fact that, if someone ate ham everyday, and got addicted to it, or fat, they wouldn't sue the shop where the bought it, but they will sue McDonalds for the same thing. Was because of parents preparing to take legal action against blizzard because of their kids addiction to the game, however his mother didn't actually have the mental capacity to unplug the internet, take his comp away, or stop paying his subs, so that should go far....

There's suing from an effective and proper legal standpoint, like being injured at work when its 100% your employers fault, and your not getting sickpay for it. Its not like these adverts present it where the money is like a magical lottery win on top of everything else. If you decide to self inflict your injury on your own free will then tough ****.

The doctor/nurse on hand explained the danger to the station, and they may well have laughed, but the contested didn't give a **** either. Also, why the **** didnt the doctor and nurse actually take the people for a check up afterwards, or if they did, why wasnt this picked up?
