DOS Attack?

Is this a DOS attack, my router (NetGear DG834G) says its in the "Known DoS attacks and Port Scans" category so I assume it is.

Also, if it is, should I report it to my ISP?

Theres a lot of it going around at the moment tbh.. just ask ragezone.

there's a way to stop a DOS attack and thats to ban the ip RANGE coming to your pc, or reset your router(if you have 1)

Thanks for the replies guys, I just wanted to make sure, because one of the IP's is still playing Sting lol. I don't want to ban someone without first getting all the facts.

Could this be anything but a DoS attack?

could also be 1 of ur players whos pc got infected with some nasty trojan etc

Yes It could be the usual marketing companies spamming you like they do through your post box, I get these all the time (icmp pings). I suppose the real question is can you block all icmp without blocking access to mir players? some routers/firewalls will do this

It happened to be the first day they started playing Sting server. I will leave it as it is for the moment, and see if I get any repeat performances.

It only happened on the 6th of March (Shows how often I look at my router logs :P) but my logs don't go back further than that so I don't know how long it lasted.

No point doing anything at the moment, unless they start again..
