Hi guys. I feel its about time we addressed this issue of DOS attacks on servers, new servers should i say. I think every new mir3 server to be released this past few month has been DOS attacked and ruined the launch. I'm wondering why theres no major help to actively find who does it and how to stop it? seeing as though this site is dedicated to us mir fans and private servers. Yet it seems noone gives a care.

Can anything be done to aid new server admins with their projects? im getting sick of it and close to moving on again.

This causes Gates to Close/Lock up and players cannot access the server ...
so i have to reboot or try a illigal Reboot on Login Gate -.- if told a few Admin .
each time a new ip ... starting to get wound up but hey ... cant be helped i suppose

There must be something the smart lads at LOMCN can do to find out who, or how to properly stop this. Or atleast a guide to stop an attack as it happens?

Really is a serious problem these little ******s are causing, slowly killing a game they supposedly are fans of?

IP address 89.211.92.237 links to LOMCN user IHaveALongName. Is this a player on your server? Assuming you've already done a search by that ip in your server log...

Unless other servers who are being attacked can also supply IP's and proof, what can we do?

The attack from 86.16.125.103 appears to be coming from https://maps.google.com/maps?q=NOTTINGHAM,ENGLAND,GB

and the attack from 89.211.92.237 appears to be coming from https://maps.google.com/maps?q=DOHA,,QA

Unfortunately that info is useless. But if its the same person with the same IPs all the time you could quite easily defend yourself against the attacks. Smart people would know how to DDOS properly. Fortunately for you your only dealing with amateurs at best.
