so i'm curious if this is against the rules or not.

i dont want to do stuff against the rules, before anyone starts complaining how i ruin their game etc.
here's the reason i decided to post this:
- the files including the account database (all your personal details), all mongen, npc's, .... is made public on certain forums (including guides how to run them so i'm guessing it's intended to be distributed in china)

- some ppl have started proving they have access to all drops etc, i think if some have got a copy, everyone should get it (just fair tbh).

i did only include drops in this to make sure no private details are distributed by me (hell the full set includes suspected bots etc lol)

(note: i did mention to sam i'd post before i pressed submit, and he didnt really forbid me from posting)

Unfortunately the files have been leaked (cry deeply) on some websites and due to this we are going to promptly revisit drop files asap... Until then I see no reason in stopping you guys from viewing the current files (as it would be unfair to those who have now not seen them), but do know these will now be changing rapidly (ie I am going to start tonight).

Apologies for this all, but know we are working on correcting this.

Well from what I'm seeing, the massdrop option is a cool addition, but it does show why nearly every monster has the same drop files besides the odd few extras within the monsters file alone.

Also FrostTiger used to be worth killing for that small chance at books/weapons. Until the drops are changed then they are really not worth the time.... lol

Shame to see these being leak but it shows why everyone was commenting about getting the same type of items no matter where you hunt. Quick way to make drop files but there is no real diversity for caves.

Please change it as the server felt very bland due to this.

In all seriousness, the drops change on pretty much every reboot under normal conditions and now a shuffle is actually needed... these files are right now fairly useless short of a reference point & are going to be completely useless in a very short time.

It's a shame someone has to throw there toys out of the pram & try to spoil a very good server, but so far everything is pretty minor... Obviously the leaks will upset Samuel & the rest off the staff - but on the plus side, at least once everything is in the light of day work can begin to shuffle / fix any problems - and I'd hope player wise, at this point everyone has changed there password, if not i suggest you stop what you're doing right now & change it.

Such a nasty piece of work. Sam worked hard on these files for a long time and now his work has been stolen. Is it really a Chinese site that has posted them all?
There were quite a few people demanding that the files were released like they had a right to use/abuse other peoples work.
Its one thing sharing fixes updates and maps for the files of a long gone server(s) Stealing someone elses personal work is a different thing altogether

Oh how more rewarding it would be if you took a 0 off each number... Tbh, I hate how it's not controlled by luck. These drops are systemically controlled and kind take out the fun in hunting bosses but I understand it's difficult to get a good, solid system.

Is it possible for you to set up if someone gets the password wrong 3 times in a row it locks them from trying again for 15 mins to stop people trying to brute force passwords ?

You say it's not controlled by luck, yet its controlled by odds ..... so every mob you kill is a roll of the dice, I don't know how much more "controlled by luck" you can possibly have it :P

Oh well it looks like I would need to join a top guild to get anywhere on this Mir server, whether I really wanted to or not.
(Even though it’s not as simple as that due to most top guilds not allowing allot of people to join).

I'm all up for keeping things rare and people being more sociable etc, but it's just going to be whichever guild is top and milking every boss. Also as I previously said allot of these guilds won't allow any new people to join. This is just going to be bad in the long run. The longer the servers up the more screwed you are as a new start.

At least with a silly chance of certain mobs etc dropping something different (not super rare) it made it a little more worthwhile.

I am well aware hunting is to level and bosses are for drops, but it kind of ruins it for smaller guilds/new people if they are kicking bout with shop items well into their 50's.

I really don't care too much about it since it’s just a game and abit of fun at the end of the day.
But it WILL end up killing off small guilds and new players in the future for sure. Which if you’re thinking of running a server for a fair amount of time seems mad if you’re going to be making cash of it.

Anyway I really do get the idea of these drops for the current time since it’s new and fresh, but overall it’s going to be damaging to the community. Since let’s be honest the Mir community has never worked as a community, this is why it always falls apart, you will always get people on this game that don’t see it as a game and take it as serious as life because it is there life.

Anyways good to see everything else seems sorted and shame that these got leaked so soon, especially after all the effort put into the game.
