Dual Boot Question

I have one 300GB Maxtor Maxline hdd, with 2 partitions, C:\ and E:\, Windows XP Pro installed on C:\ and Windows XP MCE installed on E:\...

I want to know how I can remove XP Pro safely from C:\, and (If possible) merge the two partitions together and renaming it C:\ (Keeping the XP MCE and all files safe)

right now the solution is
carefully delete all folders in C:\ except those ntldr, boot.ini etc in root
and then resize C: to small partition (partition magic)
and then resize E: to bigger partition (pm)
and leave C alone.
