dual boot

I'm having trouble getting a dual boot working. Ive fully formatted my pc. loaded up the windows 7 cd, and created 2 partitions, the primary and large one for my windows 7, and 30gb space for windows xp.

ive installed windows 7 on it, but now im having trouble getting xp on too.

whenever i boot up my pc now (before ive tried to install xp) it gives me 2 options 'previous version of windows' and 'windows 7'

for some reason my official xp cd refuses to boot from start up (any suggestions on this too?) so i used a hp windows cd, when i did this my pc refuses to boot at all, and always hung on 'press and key to boot from cd'

lol format the partition it wont install on, Also you should have installed xp first i think.

ye i know, all guides say install xp first. but didnt want to. think it must b becoz my xp cd is scratched, gonna try downloadin xp.
