Rewind immediately would have been the best solution, making mistakes is part of being human. I love this game and samual has made a superb set of files and i totally respect him for that. He has also tried to listen to players feedback which is is fantastic. The longer the server goes on though, the more I am convinced this whole game should still be in open beta.

don't hold back there mamp, serious don't... he should have held his hands up tbh, before releasing the 'event' db should have been fully backed up, if it's a complete joke after 2 hrs like it was, hold your hand up and say sorry, I cocked up, there's a rewind and just about everyone who is anyone won't care because they will have made 0.01 % in that 2 hrs, so what is the loss. Everyone makes mistakes, the bigger folks admit to them, and you know what, everyone generally respects them even more for doing so.. We all know sam is trying his best and wants it to be a success, being up front will keep people playing..

Glad I stopped playing after seeing this, and yes Sam should be owning up to mistakes insted of lying about them.

Maybe he actually wanted the skill change to happen from that poll a while back, and this was one way to get it implemented, by having the rare books drop from an event. But then saw the threads moaning and quickly ninja nerfed it back.
