As per the subject. How the elemental defense works exactly ?

I know max is 5.

For example if you get 1 Elem R. fire and if the mob is hitting with Fire element and having 100 DC , how many % it reduce the damage from that mob ?

How MR and elem R combine together.

Re: Elemental Defense < HOW IT WORKS >

10% reduction in damage for every Adv x1.

Adv x5 being the max so 50% reduction in damage for elemental mobs.

---------- Post Merged at 09:18 AM ---------- Previous Post was at 09:15 AM ----------

(Mob Damage - MR) / Adv %

Example;

100 DC - 50 MR = 50 Damage divide by Adv x5(50%) = 25 Damage dealt to you.

I wish it was the other way round and calculated Ele resistance first :P

am i right in thinking, that if a mob has 93 DC , and i have for example, a fire adv pair of boots (x1 EI) normally the captain in jinchin will require 93 MR to always miss, with the shoes, i'll require 86 ish MR for them to always miss?

The little box to the left of the monster name. A blank square is Melee (AC) the rest are elements
After all this time that is the first of me seeing that!!
Thanks!
Another question, as a tao i normally swap to normal tailsmans for MR0-8 is it better to have adv. +1 of what the mob us hitting me with?

Mr is 1st then elements reductions

You will still need 93mr

Elements defence really works best when you have no Mr and go full ei 5 allowing you to go primary offensive stats. This is when your incoming damage is alot more then your defence can get to

No unfortunately not.

(93 AD - 86 MR) = x
(x/100)10 = 0.7 damage reduction

This means despite the +10% resistance you could still be hit for 6 damage a time with a chance of it obtaining a crit.

If you had 93 MR you would always take 0 damage and zero chance of a crit.

Depends on the situation. 0-8 MR offers up to another 8 damage reduction but is subject to RNG, +1 ADV is always a 10% reduction in that specific damage type calculated after MR.

If you're hunting with a Wizzy/Sin the ADV is almost always going to be of bigger advantage. However with a Warrior using defiance that 0-8 could mean the difference between taking damage and having perfect defence.

Bosses <3 you need Element resistance for bosses as the % reduction will always be higher than what you could achieve using normal MR kit. (just realised who posted this ha ha)
