Error Code =-1 & error=4 How I fixed it
What a little sod this was to fix.
here is what i did, I post this as most other posts just say 'i fixed it' and no details! cheers lol
I opened up all the ini files, make sure the IP is correct - 127.0.0.1 i think 90% of the time.
Then i noticed that !setup.txt in the mir200 folder had some of my mates server paths in it under the heading [Share]
Under [Share] make sure the paths match yours! the ones i had didnt, i made them match my own server settings and it works!
[ERROR = 4 when making a new char]
what i noticed was the ini file i mentioned above was wrong in the path names. It was set to the person who sent me the files (a VERY nice man) and needed reseting to my paths.
ie; c:\mirserver will only work if your server fold is called that and is on your C drive. If, like me, you put it on the D or E drive, then you need to change the ini files to match this. Server launchers DO NOT DO THIS FOR YOU! they change IP# only.
Also delete the player databases from the 2 locations they are in. Mud2\Logsrv\IdDB and Mud2\DBSrv200\FDB (i think thats the right location) here i deleted all the files and ran the server, it worked for me!
Sorry for the long - ish post, but i hope ppl think its worth it, took me a whole night to work this out. Hope it works for you.
