Well today is finally the day :)

Today I will be attaching my subzero temp phase change unit to my cpu in hopes overclocking the crap out of my cpu :mwhehe:

To start though, I will be taking my computer out of it's case, setting it up on a test station and first finding out:

*Max OC with stock cooling
-Max Super Pi 1M
-Max Screenshot
-No max stability, have no time today :/
*Max HTT with stock cooling
*Max 1:1 ram frequency with stock cooling and 2.5-3-3-7 (sweet spot for TCCD)
-Without fan (varying voltages)
-With fan (varying voltages)
*Max 1:1 ram frequency with stock cooling and 3-4-4-8 (get those extra mhz)
-Without fan (varying voltages)
-With fan (varying voltages)

I will then repeat the tests however with the phase change setup.

I will keep this thread locked until I am totally done (several hours) as to keep it orginized until completion.

Right now I'm going to shutdown, disasemble, and setup caseless and install a clean O/S. While it's installing I will begin to take photos and upload them here.

One can only hope for 3GHZ stable :atpc:

Ahhhh almost forgot!

A64 3200+ 90nm Winchester
-Stock 10x200 2000mhz

2x512 PQI Turbo TCCD
-Stock DDR400 2-2-2-5

MSI Neo2 Platinum

G4 MX4000?
-Will validate what it is upon installation

Ultra X-Connect 500w

Stock cooling
-60mm fan

Phase change
-temps totally unsure, do not have a temp sensor today -.-
-Hasn't been tweaked so not sure what it will hold on load
-never used before

Re: Extreme Overclocking Log

Took a lunch break while downloading some stuff i needed, came back and found nice cool temps :ehehehehe

Well, for the air cooling session, not cool for long :furious:

Had a problem getting Cool and quiet to work right on my fresh XP Pro SP2 install this week, always worked fine before with win2k, and now with fresh XP Pro install it's not only working but .05v less with cool and quiet than before :)
I won't blame SP2, I blame the XP AMD driver from AMD.com :2guns:

Anyways, here's the last you will see of low air temps.

Temp 2 is the cpu (ohh, sooo cold, a good 30min+ into windows)
Temp 1 is the chipset i *think*, might be temp 3.
HD is also low temps, yesterday was average of 42-49c, now with a 80mm 32 Dba/32 CFM fan it's really nice :flying: a single low power fan helps a ton with HDD's.

EDIT

Temp 1 is ambient (case)
Temp 2 is CPU

Re: Extreme Overclocking Log

Hmmm got to 275 all was fine, went straight to 280 and crash...

weird, this board should go a lot higher, but I am taking it too fast.

Did some mini burn in's with super pi 1m and 512k after 275 and got this:

Will try to go higher.

Re: Extreme Overclocking Log

Got to 358 htt but i got a BSOD.

However, it's not my board's limit.

Anything above 1000 HT causes instabilty and crash, and my LDT was 3 so 3x358 and you get the picture.

To be honest I really want to get to my phase change lol so I am moving on HOWEVER I will come back to see the true highest HTT.

Re: Extreme Overclocking Log

This was the highest stable stock air OC. Not a bad pi score considering probably another 50mhz cpu and 25-30mhz mem headroom and little less than stock volts and no tweaked windows.

Was pretty much same as before.

I can however run benchmarks @ 2550-2600 however when I booted @ 2500 windows got severely screwed up :/ from the before tests... *cough* too lazy to backup and format IDE hmm SATA lying around *cough*

Re: Extreme Overclocking Log

Now open, will make another thread on monday for phase change results, but's here a sneak preview.

Temps are quite high, I have bad cpu contact I'm guessing.

Tidy that beast up and post another screeny of it looking neat and elite :P

Doesn't get much more elite than that unless he's thinking about a cascade setup... In which case he'll end up with something like this...

3stage_t.jpg

3 stage cascade

Okay, maybe not THAT bad :P but you get the idea.

...

Or LN2 cooling...
