What firewall would you reccomend for "all-round" computer use?
I was using Zone Alarm Pro, but it kept blocking my network and d/c my lappy from the internet (only on a cross over network atm till i get a router).

I currently have norton internet security, McAfee AIO Suite and Zone Alarm Avliable to install (not using ZA).

What one would you reccomend i use?? And if you know of any other good firewalls (apart from ZA and windows firewall), then please post it. :P

Thanks :)

Best one I've seen for the windows platform is Core Force Firewall (http://force.coresecurity.com/) - not quite sure it meets your requisite for an "all-round" user though.

ZA is the best n00by friendly firewall there is... and the only reason it would block other machines on your network is if you have failed to set it up correctly.

The firewall that comes with the OneCare from Microsoft is the best for an all-round user. Its the familiar windows firewall with extra customizability. :)

Otherwise ZA works for me.

Oki thanks, i have just reinstalled Zone Alarm, and it seems to be fine now, no more blocked network :P

I am still going to have a look at that one you posted Leo (Core Force Firewall). :)
