1.2ltr 8v 54 reg. Paid £1450, haggled down from £1700 due to that dent you can see on the door. It'll cost me about £2000 to insure on Co ops Young Driver Insurance where they install a black box and I can't speed or drive between 11pm-5am.

The joys of being a new driver!

Laugh at the car, the cost of insurance and the fact you can't speed or drive past 11pm.

I know :( My brother managed to insure a mini cooper sport 1.6ltr fully comp for £1,500 5 years ago. Co op even monitor like how well you drive and your premium can rise if you can't drive for ****.

Without them, the cheapest quote I could get would be around £3000 and thats third party only with like a £1000 excess lol. Just not worth it. The 'plan' is to stay with them for 1 year then move to a normal insurer as it's always the first year that is just killer expensive. If I crash though I may as well just give up on driving for a while though :x

Have they told you how many mile your allowed to do and the fact it will cost you x amount if you go over your allotted miles. Also this is going to be the norm soon, as it's a device that all insurance companies are trying to get enforced. Oh and don't think because your with them, that your premiums will come down. You will find that they actually will go up, as this year premiums went up by a massive 28% and using the safe device doesn't actually show the type of driver you are.

@Jealy - What you riding, my insurance on my bike is only £80FC, I have a 2 stroke TZR 125.

I'm 25 and pay just over £600 a year fully comp for a 2.0 GT Golf. May be even cheaper now as I was 24 when I insured it.
