Fix for - PvP/Pot/Chatbar

I find it very frustrating in PvP that while holding shift I cannot use pots via the quick key 1-6.
You have to right/double click them from bag/belt because pressing shift +number starts the chat bar.


Can we make it so that the chat bar only opens when enter is pressed to activate it?
Having it pop up in pvp is a horrible flaw in the mechanics imo.


or if someone could tell me how to reconfig the shift button for "force attack" to another key that might do the trick. cant find force attack listen on the sticky about key customization.

I think this is a great idea and definitely frustrating at times when you find yourself typing '111111122222111111155555556666666666' instead of potting, it just looks like complete and utter panic to stay alive

Haha, I almost died because of this yesterday afternoon.. thankfully I right clicked the RT in my pot bar before pressing ENTER, that way no 1 saw me type a **** load of numbers!

Here's a thought.. let shift go for a second, we have been doing this for years without a problem.

Im highlighting a flawed mechanic that affects melee pvp, especially those with smaller health pools that need to sun every 2 hits.

As i said i have adapted to right clicking the quick slot but doing so removes movement abilities.

Its a simplistic change to stop the chat bar enabling if shift+number are pressed.

I will sort of miss the '555666666666' from people when theyre lying on the floor and go to start typing a sarcastic/abusive comment, only to spam a load of numbers.

Hah, It is funny when you benefit from it and frustrating when you do not, eitherway its a flaw with the mechanics and needs addressing..

I will keep it bumped until sam/bh reply after getting back from the well deserved holiday season.

+1 from me, or at least make it possible to change key binds for more than just menu's and spell keys.

This has always been a melee problem in Mir and it's frustrating as all hell, I agree with you. I've since learned to adapt but I wouldn't mind having the option of completely disabling chat commands (Shift+1, / etc) with the tick of a button.

Having this option toggleable would be great. Means just before a fight you can toggle it off, leaving no room for mistakes in potting, then afterwards turn it back on for communication.

I wouldn't consider this a buff but more of a Quality of Life change for melee's.

Anybody know if it would be possible to use a keyboards own configuration to deal with this?

Iv already made the little weird button next to the 1 a second shift key to limit the crippling effect holding the proper shift button can have. Would similar work if I replaced ! and " with other things in the keyboard settings?

Affraid not ozzie, regardless of what key means what on they keyboard those combinations will still trigger this silly function.

changing "force attack" from shift to another key in the config file would do the trick but as mentioned there does not seem to be a location to do this
