I've made an application which automatically downloads your favourite shows, and I need some people to test it.

It's called TVTorrent and it employs the tvtorrent.info RSS feed, aswell as Mininova.org to bring you your favourite shows.

Please read the 'MUSTReadMoi.txt' for almost idiot-proof instructions (I hold no gurantees there... as someone always manages to ask a daft question).

In addition to the program, you will need (don't worry about them unless you get the 'missing file' error);
MSWINSCK.OCX
MSINET.OCX
MSVBVM60.DLL
...it is assumed that by now you have these files (ffs they're edging on 7 years old) - and that you're smart enough to GOOGLE FOR THEM if you don't have them.

I also ask that you keep distribution of this file to a minimum, since I've yet to seek permission from either tvtorrent.info or mininova.org.

Sounds interesting, the repack business is a bit dodgy, I'm bound to fall into the trap... one question. Is this applications somehow foolproof of 'fake' torrents?

Repacks are a good thing... otherwise we'd have to put up with badly synced shows ^^. The only trap is when you download a crap torrent too early in the day, so the program will ignore subsequent releases of the same episode. Tis why its best to set a late auto-run time. Personally I'm not all that bothered so mine starts at 8am GMT.

The program is reliant upon tvtorrent.info to submit torrents links. I've yet to see them provide a fake torrent.

Hey,

I search for the following:

"lost charmed smallville greys anatomy"

^_^ I'm loving the program! Shame it only backtracks a few days, but its excellent for keeping up to date with your shows.

I havn't come across any fake torrents yet either, was just a bit worried lol.

Was this hard to code?

Sholdn't search 'greys anatomy', since 'greys' and 'anatomy' are viewed as different queries - best off just searching "anatomy" for that one.

Mines "stargate battlestar crowd smallville lost invasion scrubs o.c cats" - used to be a lot bigger back when btefnet was around

Glad you like it ^^ - the backtracking shouldn't be a problem if you schedule it to run at least once a day .

It was slightly harder to code than the stuff I'm used to doing - more complex string manipulation, and having to deal with mininovas 'chunked transfer encoding'... pft.

Still waiting on a response from mininova and tvtorrent so I can release properly ¬¬
