Fortune Checker - Rare Drops %

Not sure how many people have been giving the Fortune Checker a go this evening but I'm guessing the majority?

I've not spent a fortune myself, I only hunt three or four main areas (WD / NR / Goru / Banyo), what I am shocked to find is that I am literally no where near any single "Rare" drop, not one. More so, I'm that far away from a drop I can only surmise that every drop so far on server has been nothing more than plain dumb luck....

Anyone else remotely close to any of the rarer items? Or, how about the people who've had one drop, how far towards the fortuned drop for a second one are you? Would be interesting to see if specific people seem to have better luck with drops (I have none by the way :lol).

So naturally assumed I must be well on my way to a guaranteed drop when I got a Lance of Obedience how wrong I was....

The guaranteed drop is a scam, if you're not lucky, by the time the guaranteed drop comes in you will have outleveled the zone you were hunting in and you will no longer need that item because you are now able to hunt in a higher level zone with better drop but... guess what? the same pattern will apply over and over again.

Drops were fine up to Blue Jade Signet / Wyvern Bracelet and stuff from that tier but any item rarer than that has an impossibly low drop rate, this is why there is no gear progression and you can see lvl 75s running around in the same gear they had access to at lvl 30-40. This will repeat itself when the new "expansion" comes out if jamie doesn't fix the drop rate.


I myself decided to quit the game the moment I saw that from lvl 58 to 64 you only do a 10% to get the guaranteed drop for adv renounce (which could be 1/100 pages) while I've spent well over two weeks farming FD and Queen for an elite weapon but turns out I only made 2%... laughable to say the least, I've had more success with the 0.01% mounts from World of Warcraft dungeons.

Agreed, I’m hoping that when he releases the next content the drop rates on current items is increased.

It’s not horrific by any means and we are seeing some good kit come through. But in terms of core class skills they shouldn’t be as rare as they currently are it’s extremely demoralising to think you’ve hunted for several weeks for a level 40 spell book only to find you’ve not even done 30% of the drop.

From looking at my various drops on anything after JP everything I’ve had is due to RNG not hitting the drop gate.

Yes, there are people with good gear... people who play 24/7 because of multiaccount. Don't get me wrong, they should be rewarded for playing so much but that shouldn't mean that if you can't play 24/7 you cant get drops unless you're extremely lucky.

Really???? We aren’t even 3 full months in and people are complaining about items? There are more items circulating than any official server ever has had in the same time frame. If memory serves we opened 22nd December, that’s 81 days only.

Take the Numa set for example, there have been enough drops for multiple people to refine them.

There are more elite weapons than Euro had in the first 6 months.

People run around in lower kit because it’s easier to refine, not because there is a lack of alternative. There are enough items flowing for the community to refine superior items, that’s a lot of drops taken out of circulation.

Books seem fine, I was a bit frustrated last week when I was farming out tempest, but being able to check and work out the rates is more than enough to keep me going (I got it eventually). Now I’ve worked out Advanced Renounce is 1/75,000 in HM (a lot higher in Lair), that isn’t bad considering you’ve got the guaranteed system in place as well.

With players reaching higher levels and more people going to these places you are going to see a couple of books a week just from the RnG drop.

Sorry to ask but is there a list of where things drop? I know I read an earlier post but could not see anything. Just now we are hunting the bigger places we have no idea where we should be to get the chance of higher items. Ive gathered nothing drops in the departed valley but how about goru, holy palace, ice dungeon, banyo island etc. Id be happy to use this fortune checker but as we have no idea where we should be hunting seems silly checking? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

As a normal lvl 50? how the **** do you dare to compare a lvl 50 to someone who has been farming bosses for over a month without a single drop? I'm not saying people deserve and elite weapon but any drop from a lower tier would be enough but no, you just get a bunch on ginseng and 25k gold.
Lets take a step back and ignore the guaranteed drop, there are lvl 72-74 wizards who have outleveled Frost Village and DIDN'T GET A SINGLE ITEM IN THERE. Do yourself a favour and go back to leveling, anything you say can't be treated seriously if you're a lvl 50 because the amount of time you've spent playing is nowhere close to others, specially now that you can do lvl 52 in 4 days without intensive boosting.

Jamie demonstrated on Discord why it didn’t work out the other way, it ended up in negative values and had other issues.

Books IMO are the issue, I don’t care for items being rare as that’s how it should be. Books for your core class skills on the other hand. Going from level 45-70 in your hunting area that drops your class book and only getting 1 spell book that was so few pages and not for your class it was worthless.
To then check where you are on the drop rate and see you’ve done all the way from 45-70 and are not even 30% of the way, what’s that going to mean you’re level 85? 90? By you get to the drop for your book?

Yeah I know this, my concerns were I’ve hunted a lot in WD and assumed I must have made some headway towards the guaranteed drop when in fact I hadn’t even got 1% towards it ha ha! Not bothered either way as I’ve now got my lance and it’s sexy AF

It works as intended Jamie said it created incorrect values when calculating the other way round.

Just think of it like “I’m xxx% away from being guaranteed said drop”

99% to go, to get the item.. % going down I assume?

I’ll run all the book drop rates for you tonight if I have time to get on (away on business next couple of days).

The drop rates aren’t really the issue, the pages system may need tweaking based on the drop rate, so for example if it is 1/75,000 then it drops 50+ pages only.

You also have to take into account, these advanced books are something that never existed in any other version. The chi skills you get on korean where you have to kill mobs to get training points take roughly the same amount of kills to gain as these books and there is no chance of a drop on those, the slots need unlocking by killing the mobs that spawn at different levels (they appear larger in size and have increased hp/dmg/drop/exp). The dungeons for that system are the same as people are hunting now for the books.

DId a check... 98% til drop!

I don't see your point. I you play 24x7 and didn't get anything, I will never get anything probably, and what's the problem? It's the way mir works. Say thanks to the guaranteed drop here.

For 3 months live server, I think there are enough lvls 70+, enough elite items/weapons, and so one. You are not lucky enough with drops? Wait until guaranteed ones.

It drops in WD yes. Someone just mentioned in Discord that in a group the rates increase based on number of members, so there is a chance just being boosted or on guild hunts has wrecked your rate for the guaranteed drops. Wouldn’t change your standard rng rate as far as I’m aware.

All the books in WD took me about 2.5 levels to get, about 2 levels solo and half a level in a small group (2-3 people).

How the Fortune checker works ?

I mean once u use the scroll does it update it self automatically and u only need 1 time to use it per item ? or you have to keep using every few days to see whats ur progress ?

I mean its gana be bullshit expensive to keep checking if its not updating..
