Private servers are also a problem, as the server code has been leaked onto the internet on more than one occasion.
RaGEZONE, founded and run by user "MentaL" (Dan, currently residing in Wales) took advantage of the leaked files for The Legend of Mir II. They managed to get the game working on their systems, running their own servers, and became the first Open "Private" server. (Previous Servers were all closed and invite-only)
RageZONE at this time is the largest European Private Server

After obtaining the files, Daniel aka MentaL had decided to run his own public server for Legend of Mir dispite the possability of any lawsuit or issues between himself and the Game-Network company. The server became synonymous with Legend of Mir players to this day and after five years online still currently runs the largest Legend of Mir server in existance.
