FPS which to play

people are always goin on about playin these but i have never done it and i was wondering what i should play as im gonna go shoppin tomorrow (i h8 meadowhall tho) and i want some ideas so i dont have to spend ages lookin for something i once had HL but never played CS should i but it back and play that or should i try UT or even what about an RTS like C&C tiberian sun/firestorm all suggestions welcom Thx

CS sux, you should only play that if you want to become an uber nerd.

The best FPS out atm are things like UT 2004 or HL 2, FarCry, Doom 3.

Halo/Halo 2 if you've got an Xbox (not sure on ps2 as they are gay).

Also depends on your system specs/consoles.

To play CS 1.6 you will need a HL1 unused CD Key or Steam account. To play Counter-Strike: Source you will need an unused HL2 CD Key.

well if source is better ill get a copy of hl2 get the code take it back say that my graphics card aint got T&L and that the person who sold me this at a different branch said my card had it i think he just wanted to make a sale and bam i get my money and a code easy as pie

lol well im short on cash and was thinkin about buying a copy of HL2 buing it from a branch of game computer shop then once i have obtained a key and account im gonna take it back to another branch of game and say that a sales person at there other branch told me that my graphics card would work with the game but its too slow. and i get my money back.

Once you've used your HL2 CD-key no-one else can use it as it's tied to your Steam account unlike other games that just need the CD-key to verify that you have the correct disc. As such shops have different policies for games like HL2 and they will tell you before you hand over the money that you won't be able to return the game no matter what.

a friend of mine walked into asda - recorded a game serial key, made a steam account using it, and downloaded CS: S from steam. However after a week steam rejected the ID. (probably because someone else complained theres didnt work). So i suggest if you use this method - you remove the serial key sticker from the box.

And ta-dah as much free HL2 and CS: S as you can handle
