I can see where your coming from to be honest. You can't help thing somethings fishy when you have done everything you can do but people still zip around.
Well before the recent update, ive only started playing the server and i was told i was extremely fast.. ive pvp'd the "fastest" on the server to find that there is indeed a speed cap as regardless of place/lighting we were going hit for it.
There are too many "opinions" as to what makes you fast on mir.. lets be fair that question will never be legit answered.. ive tryed what people say to make them fast and found it was actually slower.. doing no operating system tweaks i managed to hit the speed cap and same speed as the fastest players out there.
Once you reach that speed cap there is no further to go, and a lot of players are at it... the only issue that i can see at the moment is from the recent update the server in general seems sluggish.
The only way to properly test would be to have at least 6 pc's in the same house on the same connection running a vast array of CPU's, types and speeds of ram, gfx brands and models both standard and overclocked to actually see what parts dont work well and go from there.. and that is never going to happen.. so the age old question still goes unanswered..
These arent old files anymore.. ACPI is a thing of the past with these files.. and from what im seeing the advice given to a lot of people is the complete opposite of what worked for me, so my suggestion is.. mess about with your rig.. try an ATI card if you have Nvidia.. try diff ram, try a new CPU.. try different overclocks.. then move onto operating systems..
All you can really do if it bothers you that much as i can fully backup the fastest players on the server saying they are using no 3rd party applications to gain any advantage as i didnt to match them

I have no tricks, my pc is always overclocked from the day they are built.. i tried everything that was supposed to make you fast.. as i said im running an unedited/untweaked operating system and hit the speed cap.
Well i say that.. before the update everything was good.. now it seems to run like a piece of **** regardless of FPS / Ping being maxed.
Thats my point after trying all the "tricks" i reverted back to my standard OS and was fast.

If people are struggling to get the 60fps cap maybe it should be lowered? It's not like mir has anything that uses more than 15fps.
A a cap of 30 maybe best? No1 can complain "but I can't play anything at less than 60fps" as mirs frames are visible anyway.

Well i dont see that working very well as the second you spike down to 57 its very noticeably sluggish.. I think what the really have to do is revert it back to before the patch and work on another way round, was much better before.
I beg to differ.. as the CPU never runs at 4.5 unless needed..(playing actual 3d games). 9/10 its running at 1600mhz/1800mhz as its on power saving setting.. so it never actually ramps up full speed.. same with the GPU.. it never kicks into full 3D speeds either..

I think you may be right, that leads to this answer: Anyone playing on a laptop will generally never see past 3ghz so won't be as fast as the fastest.
Clearly not as i was the same speed as Depress running those clocks and hes meant to be one of the fastest.
It sorta rules out the CPU and GPU tbh..

Here's a thought... why dont you try stuff yourself?
Simple fact there is no magical setting within windows to make you fast on here.. Kori suggests 7 and aero.. i found that slow.. 8.1 im fast
2 totally diff suggestions which leads to absolutely no standard for speed.. so its simply up to you to test.
And i think you sir are the tosser..

So let me get this straight.
You are being helpful by "ruling out what doesnt effect it" yet "2 tottaly diff suggestion" work for 2 different people. genius...
so how about you stop saying what "doesnt work" because it actually might for some people and start suggesting other ideas if your interested in helping otherwise kindly stfu and let other people suggest things for people to try..
Lmfao you really are stupid.. a fast CPU means nothing.. thats rule out as at 1.6ghz im fast (maybe it handles single threaded applications better?)
A high end video card is ruled out as it doesnt even engage the 3d clocks..to play it. (Maybe my card handles older games better?)
