damm, Anyone tell me why my laptop will only connect to the interwebb when i use a ethernet cable i made....ones from shop just don't work, - on topic, its cuz i wanna play when it comes back up :P

Because like devices use a crossover and a straight through is for different devices, some routers/switches and pcs can deal with it and auto switch but some others you have to use correct cable
^ so will i just have to make a cross over and a straight to find out which works,? or is there a way to tell what one i need without having to make both?

Yes a PC to PC is connecting two devices that are alike.
If you are connecting a PC to a router you would normally just use a Patch (straight thru)
sweet, got it working, lucky i didnt wire it as a cross over as i only had 2 connectors left. Missing the tool 2 crimp it properly my teeth worked just got 2 be carefull not 2 knock the cable

yeah pliers would hve been good, but they outside...its dark...its scary..and im told pliers come alive at night.
