Game Shop Item from Mail

Hi,

Apologies if an obvious question, but i'm pretty noob with Mir 2.

I have just purchased some Level 35 GuildedPads using Hunt Points and it said "New Mail has arrived". I go to Warehouse, collect mail and it said received but I have no pads. Where would they be?

By default on crystal files you have to buy the item, then go and collect it at the npc and then finally collect it from the mailbox. I am not really sure why the collect from NPC part is involved but I'm guessing the devs had a reason for it.

Its to prevent people just buying gameshop items whilst out on a hunt.

The option can be turned off in config if you just want to allow collection from anywhere.

Its only logical , same as in rl, mail like message written on a paper you receive in the mailbox directly, delivered by your post office, but a mail which is a parcel containing goods, needs to be picked up at the post office or some parcel collection point, here storage npc

Most post offices being state run don't deliver parcels to your door, does that not make sense?

at one time I also wondered why all that rigmarole but then I realized it is an RPG element (besides serving practical point as Far said)

I think you should be able to collect items from anywhere (apart from rts, potions etc.) I added it to my list awhile ago to add a tickbox to item DB called "Can collect mail anywhere" or something along those lines.

I think 'collect mail anywhere' is part of stock client. You can address mail to yourself (using 'send parcel' from storage npc) and attach RTs for example, and later in a cave you can collect those RTs from the mail.

But there is a filter that allows only some items to be mailed, to yourself or others. Buying from GS and collecting in field, without storage mail npc is a different thing, at least the way I see it, from the player point of view.

I don't use GS much but if you buy from it and then collect the parcel via mail npc, you don't need to open the mail and get the item from it right away, perhaps you can do that last step anywhere? So if you buy exp scrolls from GS and collect their parcels from npc in advance, then in caves you can open your mail and collect items from it, same as with the exp scrolls example above, right?

You can always remove all and any such barriers on your server but I don't see much point in it. Servers that typically would allow this also pretty well always allow teleporting everywhere and even put storage npc in SZs to save you some steps, so unless you are camping deep in a cave where you can't teleport back, it is a matter of seconds to access this npc.
