I just have a standard headset/mic thing.

My Mousemat: http://dataforce.ownage.org.uk/100_1626.JPG

My Mouse: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=3,CONTENTID=9043

I used to have the mx700 like you, but decided to upgrade to the mx1000, and i'm glad i did. It took some getting used to at first (the scroll wheel also goes side to side, but that dun work without drivers luckily, cos i keep pressing to the side by mistake) but its definetly more comfortable to use, and more sensitive. It also has an on/off switch to save on battery.

The only problem is that the battery is an inbuilt one, and not replaceable easily, but apart from that, its a great mouse.

My mousemat at the moment is a fashion illustration book by Laird Borrelli on top of a thickish lined pad of paper. My mouse is a black Compaq standard PC World mouse that my little brother bought and I swapped. It has a wire goin into the back of my PC and a mouseball. My keyboard is silver and black, little bits of food stuck here and there.

I still reccomend the mx1000 to anyone, tis really nice

I'd go MX1000, it's better than MX700, and I don't like wired like MX518.

Wireless mouses suck big time, I'm having to replace my batteries every week - plus the response time is very slow. I'm going to buy a nicec $100 wired laser mouse.

Then get better quality batteries, and put the mouse in its charger more often (if it doesn't have a charger its cheap :P)

Alternatively, just get a pair of rechargeables (eg if your mouse takes 3 batteries, get 6) then rotate them between the mouse and the charger
