Define good, oblivion good or WoW good. If its oblivion good you wont get one for that price im afraid, a desktop however is another matter.

be sure you need the mobilitiy first.

Many people get laptops because they can move them around and so fouth, but usualy end up keeping them in one place.

so for what you are paying for a excelent laptop, you can get a far better desktop pc.

At that price? you're not going to get alot.

The words gaming and laptop don't *normally* go together, they're just not practical for such a thing - the battery life being one of the biggest problems.
"But plug it in" you might say - why buy a laptop then?

If you simply must go for a gaming laptop then go for one with a reasonable amount of memory (at least a gig), a dedicated graphics processor (not onboard!), and a reasonable processor (either the Turion or Core 2 Duo/Pentium-M will do).

I also think quite a lot of it is down to cooling aswell, there just isnt enough room to cool high end gfx cards.

Have a think about it, dont just get a laptop for the novelty of having a laptop.

Well, i can say that i'm enough satisfied with my FS A1667G apart from a few small things like there being NO support whatsoever from FS when you encounter a problem, the laptop is a mobile owen(however you spell that) and it weighs a bit (3.1kg if i recall correctly). Cost's about €1000 i think. Plays Oblivion on med(ish) settings enough to satisfy me.

my centreno 1 can handle WOW an guild wars mir ect ect so thatll do for me its a dual core 1.60x2 (obviously) 1 gig ram not sure on the graphics card but it does me well and im told u can pick them up now for £450 so in january sales you could exspect them to go down to somethin like £300-£350.
