Well the panic is starting to come though now, basically my gcse's are like a few weeks ago my 1st gcse's are not this week but next week. So im kinda wondering are they as hard as teachers really say they are?? My headteacher in assembly said to revise over 3 hours thats from mon - friday when we come from school ... and sat and sundays to revise all day.

Im not the brightest kid, but my coursework owns, i got mostly A-B in all and just a C in science one. Again wondering would u av to do alot of work in the tests to do good?

e.g. Music i got B and a B and its worth 60% the tests i will do will be 40% as u can guess and they are only 2.

I didnt revise at all, and i came out with a straight set of B's lol. BUt then again its all down to your personal style, i had to force my way through my coursework, and did crap on it didnt get above C in any Coursework, but i managed to 100% 3 of the tests becuase ive got an awesome memory.

The best advice i ever got was, revise until youve lost intrest almost entirely, becuase once you reach the point where your bored and unintrested, you it stops having an effect. If your in the mood to read the books, look over your notes etc, then you should get right on it cos you will remember a lot more.

yeah lol i kinda of noticed that, for my english gcse that was worth 25% i got a B and for my mock same test (about death of a salesman) i got E.

What you should do is revise 15 - 30mins, take a break 10mins ish take a walk or w.e so you relax'd therefore you can revise better = better grades / score. Anyways, GL With your GCSE's mate

EDIT: just make sure you dont relax to much lol (like go to sleep when you gna / try revise lol, get ur revision done with, its gd wen u do lol, then you can sleep , i lve sleeping 2bh lol.)

i revised some subjects more than others..... ok for sum i did *** all ¬.¬ but thats because i knew id fail in them :P I always did a small amount of revision before i went into the exam room or night before.

But the ones i did alot of revision on were the ones i cared about (maths, PE).

They aint as bad as u think, i mean i know i wouldve done **** loads better if i revised more, so revision is the best key turst me, even tho i h8 it and it was ****, it works !!!!

same here, got my A2s in a few weeks tho, might consider revising slightly, altho its only Business Studies and ICT, and I have the required grade from Business studies already, just need to finish some ICT coursework and i should be able to walk the exam and get the grades i need in that aswell

If you're articulate, you can sell your knowledge in most answers for exams that require a lot of writing (unlike Math or Science [perhaps]). In which case, all you do is elaborate on points you have learnt over the two years, and possibly before that too. Not much on the spot-revision required.

I've only hade 5 of 16 early GCSE's so far, and those were a year early and I got max marks in most of the written exams and an excellent grade over all. So I guess you shouldn't worry too much... but I was pissing myself before those exams.

I've got my first GCSE Exam for Year11 on Friday for Citizenship and RE (lol...), followed by another two (or three?) exam weeks and study leave. I would recommend you prioritise the subjects you find hardest and the ones you will most need for your chosen career path. With myself, for example, med school is my goal, so I'm concentrating hard on my Sciences, Math, English and a foreign language as well as extra-curricular activities. Its especially hard for high-level professions, because the uni's atually look at your GCSE scores.

This part of your life is going to pass before you know it, so make the right choice and keep a level head. Don't bite more than you can chew, but don't be too arrogant and walk into the exam hall without any revision at all. It might make you look smart with your peers but trust me, its not the best pick up line, in many ways.

Besides, you don't want to be the only mature student retaking your GCSEs around 15/16 year olds... that'd just be plain embarrassing.

Five.

You can get into college with just English, Math and Science say you took English Literature and Language as well as Applied Science.

I hate what they've done with Applied Science (Double Award), I would have prefered to take Chemistry, Biology and Physics. That way, if I weren't good at, say Physics, my overall score wouldn't be effected. Med school won't like it if I don't get at least a middle A for the whole GCSE now.

My father was saying the GCSE's (or O Levels in his case ) have just become too easy and thats why I am/others are getting so many high grades, talk about morale boosting lol. Anyway, I gave him a past paper to do and he got a U

I was there to invigilate so he couldn't sneak a look at any of his books; he's your typical middle-class father.

I take single sciences (or triple science, whatever you want to call it) so that i get 3 seperate grades.

Have my first exams on the 23rd, IT and English lit, not sweating them in the slightest, i'm maybe even a bit too laid back. English lit i don't give a rats ass about, so i'm not even going to bother revising, and the IT is a piece of piss so with minor amounts of revision it should still be a walk through.

Haven't got another exam then until the 6th (or something like that) so i've got a nice easy 3 weeks ahead of me ^.^! Broke up on thursday and what a relief that was.

Seriously, if you start getting into a panic about the exams, it'll only make you feel worse and struggle to revise and remember while in the exam. I know some people who have been revising out of school for 2 months already and are finding it hard to remember the stuff now. Last minute revision is where my mind works best.
