Why wouldnt they be? You're not altering the client or taking advanatge of a loophole or bug.

Macros are always a grey area.. With something like Autoit you can essentially create a fully fledged bot which in essence is a macro.

Or you could just be creating a combination of F keys to level skills over night - This is something i usually do:

Cast Shield
Cast FW x 10 (While shield on CD)
Loop

Would be good to know what is acceptable.

Yeah I agree, they should draw a line.

Also with regards to other rules (which this post is obviously about), would be nice to know for example global abusive language, etc. Rules regarding account sharing. It seems to be a large mess on the server owner their side. Looks like they are running around as headless chickens.

As far as i was aware from talking with DVS, levelling skills overnight with a macro is perfectly fine, but setting things like sun pot scripts or any kind of macro to automate skills while fighting is a big no no.

The point is, stuff should be stickied and any recent changes in rules or godwhatsoever should be kept up to date, its a mess.

While I do feel like this server has the potential to keep a big player base I do feel as if lots of people (from those who I have spoken to) are bored of the insecure behavior by GMs and buggy stuff all over the place.

As I stated before they should just stay professional, no endless chitchats with random nobody geeks ingame what their desire and needs are, just a logic approach how to optimize the server. Half the evening consists of GM shouts, I find this irrelevant and unprofessional.

I'm developing a game and botting has been on my mind since the beginning. How to avoid it? You can't. At least you can't catch everybody and people who use bots will have a big advantage over those who don't because they want follow the rules.

My conclusion? As long as it doesn't mess with the server it's allowed.
