Getting absolutely peed off

I've been apart of forums that did this. It essentially pools all the childish/e-peen people into one place. On the one hand, they're away from normal discussions... on the other hand, they'll breed and spread their type of behaviour to anyone else who may happen to join that discussion, even if to just defend themselves from the crap that's being said against them.
I just don't understand why some of you can't post without insulting someone, or heck, just refrain from derailing decent threads with your pointless guild drama. That's the real problem here. Nobody feels safe enough to make a normal thread asking about something without someone going completely off-topic and starting a guild vs guild e-peen war. If anything there's not enough moderation to deal with these select few people. (Heck, years ago LOMCN would just 3day ban you for flaming lol)
Banter is fine, and I recommend it in the guild section - but the second it starts getting personal (posting pictures etc), your thread will be closed. The problem is some people don't know the difference between banter and personal, because they're so accustomed to it from playing Mir.

Personally i think people just get frustrated with being censored, maybe a dislike to authorotahh?
Also unless your 10 years of age im sure you can laugh the abuse off?

I occasionally check the forums and seems recently every other thread is locked by mods.(who seem to have a fixation with e-peens)
Everyone should be allowed to troll/flame till there hearts content, ( this isnt the street, its an outlet for ppl where they can act out of character)
This also allows the decent ppl to know who to avoid aswell.

We need a flaming section where people have to click a link accepting by posting in there that unless its racism/direct threat then its all free game with very relaxed moderation. All banter could be directed there & if possible remove it from the recent news bar.

it astounds me people think that they have a right to troll/flame on the forums. It really does. A forums purpose is for people to discuss the game. Out of Character does not mean 'acting a dick'. For a lot of people ' acting the dick' is actually in character, so they cant even use that argument.
At the end of the day - this is a free service, offered up by people devoting their time, money and expertise into it. If they want to keep the forums clean then so be it. If you don't like that, then don't post - go to reddit or somewhere to flex your finger muscles and prove how 'big and touch' you are behind your keyboard.
Flames serve no constructive purpose at all. They always end badly; they either derail the thread, get you banned, or more worryingly lead to personal attacks.
I will agree, that sometimes the best way is not to close a thread, but to delete the posts. And this is often what gets done but it can eb time consuming. With the amount of crap flying around the forums at the moment, I'd just close the threads too.

Mir without drama and ingame/outgame "hate" for each other, guild rivalry and putting a big mouth forum user in their place ingame would be extremely boring.
By moderating the forums to such a degree you are removing the drama, I have picked up a few names from forum posts in the past and gone to find them ingame to either get killed or prove they only have words. There is little forum posts left to pick the fools out anymore.
The level of moderating is way way way over the top.
This should be called the holy church of all bibleness forum.

As far as I am concerned LOMCN's rules have not changed, if you break the rules expect there to be consequences.

Usually I don't mind the childish **** people put on forums hiding behind there computers but the pure abuse personal attacks and flaming that goes on here is amazing it made me remember why I stayed away from the forums on Euro Mir I hope gms keep locking the threads that are just pure abuse and hopefully one day the people doing it might realise that they are just wasting there time flaming being abusive and personally attacking people because the post will be locked. However I doubt most these people have the level of intelligence to figure out that they are wasting there time so go on guys flame away at this post

It's why the forums so dead these days.
Also makes it look like not much is happening to anyone potentially looking to join the server. Flip side if you allow it, people may look at it and not want anything to do with it....
However this is Mir and 90% of players want to troll and flame each other anyway.

90% of players do not want to rant and sound like they belong in a room full of sweating smelly testoserone reeking "lads". Most of em wouldnt say a word in real life if they were on their own without an audience.
