I got a Marshall Rocket starter pack. Was cheap, decent-ish guitar. Nice 15 watt Marshall amp with a nice overdrive sound. Has served me well for coming up to two years and Marshall has some cool online starter lessons for free =]

Forget all what you've heard. If you're literally just starting out, you're not going to care about quality of sound, wether or not it's got a floyd rose, wether it's got one or two trust rods, what wood the body is made out of, what the pickups are, how many there are. Just go with the cheapest one and make sure it comes with an amplifier. Once you get to a decent standard, you can think about makes such as Jackson, Washburn, Gibson etc.

£219 for a starter guitar? are you absolutely kidding me? My first guitar I got an Encore, £80 came with a 10watt amp, overdrive with gain control. 1 dual coil pickup, volume and tone control, bridge wasn't fixed but it's not a floyd rose, what exactly more do you need from a starter guitar? I still use that for pissing about on now.

Don't overstep the mark, most people with money to waste presume "if i get an expensive guitar, i'm going to sound good" nope, you're not, you're going to sound good if you practice hard. Save your money.

Well gtfo this thread cos you obviously know nothing about guitars if you can't play one.

P.S. Your comment on this thread was useless.
