Hi i bought a new game called " final fantasy 11" and when i wanted 2 play it ses " no tnl hardware found " .. so it kinda sucks cos i wanted about 3 hours installing the bloody game . So ive called a computer shop and i told them the grafix card that i need . Its :

NVDIA GeForceFX series graphics processing unit ( AGP ) with 64mb of VRAM
so my dad sed the lady started 2 lol cos the thing is 2 years old .. ( wtf my pc is half yr old ! payed 1200 quid . ) Eneyways my dad got angry and he told me 2 look for a grafix card that cost around 120 quid . My question is .. Is the lady telling the thruth or is she laying just to get more cash . Or she right if so could you please recond me a grafix card that will work on final fantasy so i dont get the error : Hardware doesnt suport TnL.

Ta in advance

To start: Don't take hardware to a PC show to get it repaired.

Which model is your card?

TnL is a commonly used feature and is present in most video cards. You might have not installed the drivers to your card and you might be running off an internal graphics unit.

No your card shouldn't be over two year old so slap that money hungry cow. :)

alas, looks like your buying a new GFX card, but if I were you, I wouldn't opt for the cheaper cards, you will end up having to constantly update, just buy one expensive one, should last you a good few years

you say it will endure years, but how do you know the technology of gaming won't increase drastically and outdating this one by miles...I think its always safer to go for the high prices

Yes at least another few years, most games don't even push past 64MB so it doesn't matter anyways.

No, XBox uses 64MB dedicated graphics, plus it had been in development and he's right to say it doesn't evolve over night. Anyways PC's will always be gaming bad-boys. :P

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. 256mb...
the one i use is
GeForce 5600 128mb

both work fine, but its dodgy out there on the market but the two front runners seem to be Geforce-Nvidia and ATI Radeon. Your choice in the end :)
