hey guys i have a telephone interview with a company called visual and i have no idea what to say!

so far ive got writen down is

[FONT=&quot]I’m a strong-minded young person and my ambition is to keep gaining knowledge and updating my qualifications within the ict area. I’m very motivated and I like to be given a challenge where it tests my skills. Ict has always been my strong point, this is because ICT has always interested me and because of this it makes me want to learn more and more about this subject.

but im really worrying about when the guy asks me questions like "what is your weakness" and "what is your strengths"

helppp!

Sorry mate I'm **** with interviews myself, and I've never heard of a telephone interview :s and this probably isn't the best place to ask lol

But please change this in your dialogue:

I’m a strong-minded young person and my ambition is to keep gaining knowledge and update my qualifications within the ict area. I’m very motivated and I like to be given a challenge where it tests my skills. ICT has always been my strong point, this is because it has always interested me, and as a result it makes me want to learn more and more about it.

Just the stuff in bold is how it should read, they know what you're talking about you don't need to keep saying 'ICT' or 'this subject'.

Good luck :)

Strengths: what you good at e.g. communication skills, team work, individual work etc.

Label what you think are your strengths. Also when labeling weaknesses explain how you good develop/improve on them.

Dont write nothing down jsut answer the questions as your asked them. Its the best way of going about it.

Althought 1 good thing would be to learn something about the company the main question they normally ask is * Waht do you know about the company* be ready to instantly fire loads of junk at them and youl be fine.

With a telephone interview, they are testing what your interpersonal skills are communication is like when talking with someone over the phone.

Best advice I can give, is don't take long pauses between answering any question they ask you.

Have a script, with answers to questions they may ask you. Like mapa said, They test you communication skills, How well you can speak over a phone etc.

You've already sent a cv so it's unlikely they will want you to read off a section about yourself.

They'll probably just want to ask you questions, some about yourself and some on the field your applying for.

http://jobsearch.about.com/od/interviewquestionsanswers/a/interviewquest.htm

is a good site to revise, don't write it down though. Reading from a sheet will create too many pauses and make it sound unnatural which is exactly what they are not looking for.

Just relax and treat it like a normal conversation over the phone. If you know your **** then no questions they ask you will be a problem. If you don't know it then it will get worse and worse :D

The one question that really threw me in an interview was "What is the one thing we should remember about you".

Strengths
Weaknesses
How people who know you would describe you
What you would do in certain situations. E.g. you get a very high rate customer, how would you handle it?
What do you think this job will include?
What skills will you bring to the team/company
Where you would like to see your self in 10 years time.

They're just a couple of questions I can remember that we ask at our work place.

Also with telephone interviews they want to see how you are over the phone with customers, and if you have good telephone communication skills.
Make sure you speak "proper" queens english. No slang, no pauses, and as clear as possible.

Don't prepare too much that you end up writing loads down to read out to them, believe it or not but they will know that your reading off a piece of paper. Just get a good idea in your head of what your going to say, and let it all roll off the top of your head.

Seems a little unprofessional ot ask them sort of questions... Was it an "official" question, or one that came in convo?

They reeled of the list of usual questions, ''past experience?'' etc, then randomly asked me a few odd questions at the end.

More and more questions like these are being asked.

Like

If you was a c0cktail, Which would you be and why.
" " Animal " " " " " " "
Whats your favorite Movie and why.

Must just say something about your personality, and shows you can think on the spot.

Lmao @ Skyline

I have personally never had an interview, but my course tutor made me prepare for one and she gave me tips. It's a bit unusal them sort of questions, surely it has to be something relevant to do with the position you want to apply for/company.

You do get asked questions that relae to the job, but you also get questions for them to find out what personality you have etc, to see if you will fit into the "team". A happy team is a productive team ;)
