having a problem setting up 3.55 server

im on vista (i believe this is the problem)

when i try and run loader3g or netcheck, the program just closes down straight away

iv tried changing some compatibility bits, and running as admin, but nothin workin so far.

if theres no solution to this, whats the next set of files down which has armour glows working?

Its vista m8, we had the same problems when trying to use a vista machine as a test sever.

tbh, whats the main differences between 3.38 and 3.56? armours glows, and a few bug fixes? or has majorly more been added.

The fix is to change to windows XP.

And about the differences, some of the variables changed from shortint to integer (why they didn't just changed it to longint is still a mystery), that means you can put in those cells numbers bigger then 255. That means that if you want high rate server you must have 3.55/6.

yeah not bothered about 255, so thats about it?

i did really want the armour glows, but if thats the only main change to 3.56 then i think ill stay simple.

Armour glows work on 3.55 - I personally can't see why anyone would upgrade to 3.56

half of my games wont work with xp, because of the directx 10 requirement. so im not downgrading to xp.

mir2-mir3 wont work on vista and if im right u cant even play...you just have to w8 for some new patch versions so many things will work on vista, atm thats why im not chainging i better not play 10-20 new good games than to piss off with vista just have to w8 few more months or chg to xp :P

mir2 works fine. and so should mir3, its just those 2 apps which arnt working.
